I mean, you're dead beat exhausted. So much so, that when you get to the gym, you're still too tired and can't give it 100%, let alone 125%.

I feel like I just didn't get a good workout.

something is better than nothing. i personally do it in the morning after breakfast + i get cracked out on caffiene, so i dont have the don't feel like it problem in that situation. the only time i dont feel like it is afte a night of heavy drinking in which case i try to sleep as long as possible then rehydrate and refeed all day and then go at night, i usually can't lift as much but its better than missing it all together. or i just dont go cause i feel like shit

Hmm. I can't wake up early and do it in the morning. I mean, I could, but I just can't wake up. I'm technically supposed to be at work at 8am, but I always get in at 9:30-9:47. (good thing my job permits that ;) ) And this is when I wake up at 8. I'm a slow mover in the morning.

So I go after work, but sometimes I'm just beat.

Maybe I should mention I took 3 days off from the gym completely after 2 weeks straight of not missing a day. I ended up heading out to Flushing and eating thai food with friends (laxative) and I got home pretty late last night. But still. My eating habits today weren't great either.

I'd consider downing a shit-ton of caffeine, but coffee makes me shit. I guess I could just drink a bunch of black tea.

working out for 2 weeks straight isn't exactly great for you either. 3 days off after 2 weeks of working out is not a bad thing.

I usually go at night, 10ish. if i feel beat I just force myself to go and figure that half assing it is better than not going at all. And like bomba said, if i drink the night before i know that i'm going to suck it up so i try to sleep as much during the day and getting as much food and water in my system. Then I go out and again understand if my lifts are slightly lacking.

Well, it was lifting one day. Cardio next day. for 2 weeks straight. But yeah, that was a bit excessive considering it was also the first time in a few months.

I always take weekends off.

I know a lot of people who - after a few months, will take a week or two off... They usually say after a week or so they have tons of energy and cant fuckin wait to get back in the gym.

Keep your diet in check and take a break... Might do you some good.

Well, why are you so tired after work? I make sure I get enough sleep before days I plan to lift heavy. Sleep is really, really important. Get enough rest and don't overdo it, you should have enough energy at the end of the day.

I lift at 8pm after a 14-hour day, my biggest problem is falling asleep afterwards .... like right now.

Cause I sit on my ass all day and read Tribalwar at work.

I have had a lack of energy this entire summer.

Waking up at 7am, doing school, going to bed at 2 or 3 or 4 or 5am. Not enough energy to workout when it gets to it.

I'm feeling pretty terrible about it :(

if you dont feel like going to the gym do some shit around the house

pushups, crunches, you can even do some aerobics and stretching.

i just run my ass off
it only requires me to put one foot in front of another

30 minutes later i stretch my legs out and i feel great.

No doubt. My gym closed for maintenance last week and I was going nuts waiting to get back in. I went in pumped up yesterday and my lifts were solid at my top range or slightly improved.

Honestly, I don't take a day off from the gym no matter how shitty I feel. Once I get warmed up, I feel fine to get my routine. I may not set any new records that day, but the way I look at it .. if I allow myself to skip even one day ... then that makes it ok to skip and I'll find new excuses to allow myself to repeat. As long as I keep going to the gym as something I HAVE to do, like going to work, then I know I'll be consistent.

I mean, what do you do when you just don't feel like going to work? At my job, you go in and suck it up anyway.

I go in, sleep at my desk, play video games, or read tribalwar.

Will you come to Long Island and beat me up on the days I don't feel like working out? That might motivate me.
