Re-Installing FTW version of Tribes...

Ok, I just got some cable internet, and I want to play Tribes again (yay), but Im having difficulties.. Im running Win98SE (I know, I have money coming later this year, and my wife is demanding for me to get a new computer, and I will) but anyway, When I run the FTW Tribes, with patch, the hudbot comes up and says Loading Tribes.. Lost Tribes.. 5 times, and then shuts down. I've tried to reinstall my video drivers, Im running a Geforce2 Ti, but the driver on my comp says the one I have is the best one. Ive tried uninstalling the FTW Tribes and reinstall it.. still not working.. Im running 1024X768 res. so I know its the right size... anything else Im missing here? Thanks in advance...

Are you playing the original 1 or Tribes II? (I know it's not Vengeance).

Try it without hudbot.

That distro works great for me except one small issue. My mouse sensitivity keeps getting reset each time I load up a new map, and I have to shuffle to the options menu each time the countdown timer starts.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Not sure what could be going on Lugz -- First, I'd try just running FTW without applying anything within the multipatch. Second - Maybe try running this:

That's a small patch I made that'll update FTW to the latest Hudbot (which no longer requires an external process of Hudbot to run), however you'll need to manually execute Tribes.exe afterwards as I forgot to make it update the shortcut. :D Sooo, that's sort of a longshot but may work.

Lastly, I'd try just running a basic installation of Tribes.

If it runs, it's probably an issue with hudbot / OpenGL.

Press CNTRL + LEFT / RIGHT ARROW within game to adjust mouse sensitivity.. it'll be permanent after that. ;-) Sorry that i wasn't very clear about that.

Thank you so much Rye.. Ill deff. try this, and I have tried to run it without using hudbot, and the same thing kept happeneing. So im thinking its a graphics prob. even though i tried updating my driver, which did nothing. If this doesnt work, ill try the basic version of Tribes. Thanks again.

Ok, so i tried to hudbot update.. didnt work, and I tried the simple version of Tribes, and went to the ClientPrefs and changed the res to 1024X768, and that still isnt working.. wtf is going on here? All it does it start up, it goes to the Start Game - Demos area and then shuts down right after... wtfzZ?!?

I'd just re-install.

Ok, now the problem is.. it works whenever it wants to.. some days I have luck and it will work everytime, and sometimes not at all..

you don't want to reinstall t1 texslayer, it is tew ez nowadays.
