Nasty shits the day after protein shake?

I've been going to the gym a couple of times a week with my friend, I'm really enjoying the workouts and seem to be getting some small but steady results....

Last 4 or sessions, I've had a "Met RX" protein shake at the gym as soon as we finish working out......

But the day after I always have a really nasty, either thick liquid or small chunks crap....

Is my body just not using the protein and shitting it straight out? Perhaps it is the type of protein?

I haven't changed my diet dramatically other than the protein shakes (just taking one post workout, two times week), so I'm led to believe it must be that causing it.....

Anyone had similar experience...? or recommend a different product?

(I'm fairly new to training, going twice a week on an evening; finished by ~8pm in bed for 12pm, 6'2", 168lbs).

I had the same problem, it went away when i started to use water in the shakes instead of milk. Try that.

I general mix with water anyway. Perhaps it's just a case of trying different products.

I've never had an issue w/ gas or shits with my protein shake. And I use a pretty cheap one.

It's pretty simple. Methane, and most carbon based byproducts of the flora in your intenstines doesn't smell.

When you have too much nitrogen and a bunch of nitrogen (and/or sulfur) rich compounds are making their way through your intestines and being metabolized by the bacteria there, you get many more, and varied gasses in your intestines. Ergo, too much nitrogen or sulfer equates to more stinky farts. Too many carbohydrates can do the same thing (although these farts typically don't stink).

The more you knew :science:
