Cubase SX3 driving me nuts

I have used Cubase VST for a LONG ass time and am pretty good with it.. I upgraded recently to SX3 and everytime I record it records as a stereo wav and the input shows as IN 1 but no audio will show on the track (i.e. audio 8)

I have the red bullet selected and when I record it records to track audio 8 but it records stereo.

what am I doing wrong?

When you create the audio track choose Mono instead of Stereo. In the mixer (F3) make sure you have show inputs selected so you know you're looking at the input track. Post a screenshot or two and I'll tell you what's wrong. Take one with the mixer and one of the VST connections i/o.

I did that... the track was already existing actually because I imported this from a .all file

In the pic you can see I have signal coming in IN 1 but nothing is coming over audio 8 and the red bullet is selected and it is mono however it will record stereo

Sorry to leave you hanging, I went to bed lol.

It's because you have your bus configured as a single stereo (L/R) input. Configure each Mic/Line In of the Mbox to be separate Mono Inputs by deleting the current stereo bus and adding 2 new mono busses, then save your config as something like "Mbox2", so for future projects you can simply select it from the Presets dropdown box.
As for not seeing signal on Audio 8 (or any track), it's because you have to select the little speaker icon beside the record enable button. That's your monitor toggle.

I will try that. I had the 2 mono in the bus because I had thought of that last night however i heard no audio when trying it that way and nothing still showed on audio 8. That is prolly because I didn't have the speaker clicked..

I feel like a noob but thats different from VST and I have used mainly pro tools lately... (addictive drums seems to drag and drop better on Cubase though)

Thanks for the help it seems to have worked.
