Most people arnt actively looking to sell or buy an account, yet it takes up most of any page. Slobax 07-30-2007, 09:19 PM Horrible idea. You don't mix REAL life tangible transactions with something from a online roleplaying game. Not to mention it wouldn't fly since our classifieds forum has strict rules, and the WoW sub forum is the only place you can actually get away with such threads. Leave it be before they start cracking down on our WoW forum WTS threads. Reggs 07-30-2007, 09:38 PM Then why not contain it to just one thread. Synth 07-30-2007, 09:50 PM dont read them. I like looking at the gear and the prices personally Rayn 07-30-2007, 09:57 PM Data likely does not want to deal with it. We have a forum specifically for WoW, should have them here. Rulide 07-30-2007, 10:48 PM gay The_Ham 07-31-2007, 12:03 AM Then why not contain it to just one thread. Most people arnt actively looking to sell or buy an account, yet it takes up most of any page. I've though of this before. Why not just have one buy/sell thread stickied. Post what you have/want and people that are looking to buy/sell have one place to look and the rest of us don't have to look through 1/2 a page of. Rayn 07-31-2007, 12:17 AM I don't feel we have such an abdunance of new threads that we need to confine it to a sticky, but if people feel differently we certainly can move in that direction. The_Ham 07-31-2007, 12:59 AM well, 11 out of 30 of the threads on the 1st page are buy/sell/account value threads. so about 1/3 of the 1st page. It's not a huge nuisance but a minor one for those of us not interested in it. The issues also comes to mind that if there was a sticky, would people actually use it vs still making their own threads? Reggs 08-01-2007, 04:55 PM 40% of the front page is now WTS, WTB, WTT, or appraisal threads, and its only going to get worse with everyone going back to school soon. I think its far past the threshold of abundance. Smaqaho 08-01-2007, 05:51 PM 40% of the front page is now WTS, WTB, WTT, or appraisal threads, and its only going to get worse with everyone going back to school soon. I think its far past the threshold of abundance. It was bad enough with all the cheaters posting tips on how to use glider to avoid doing anything themselves, I'm actually surprised that TW allows people to buy and sell characters off their website. It's not like there's really anything to talk about that players wouldn't discuss in their own guild forums or /gu, perhaps a patch once in awhile or some other random info people may be interested in. It clutters up the page with a bunch of people looking to break TOS, but really there isn't much to read or discuss these days so it's not like I have to wade through 3 pages of threads to find what I'd want to read. kyuss 08-01-2007, 06:17 PM one thread is a cluttered solution. there is no way to organize anything in a single thread. it's going to be ugly edits and quotes of quotes of quotes of quotes. i see 2 options; a) leave as is. b) create another sub-forum that is actively admin'd like the classifieds forum. i personally don't find the constant wts, wtt, wtb spam annoying at all. i usually know of people (in game or irl) that at one time or another want to do one of the 3, so i actually find this forum extremely useful. i also enjoy perusing other peoples chars. i would dread actively doing any kind of character selling/trading/buying outside of this forum. i've not only traded a char successfully (and eventually traded back), but recently bought my first char using this board. each was a easy experience and both parties were completely satisfied. as for breaking tos as if it's some kind of sin; there are plenty of other activities happening on this board that should be occupying your time if that a real concern of yours. it's not like we're dealing drugs over here. and as opposed to the classified forums, i haven't seen too much drama (ppl getting scammed) over the selling, trading, or buying that goes on here (aka none at all). Lukeris 08-01-2007, 06:40 PM anyone want to buy some crack? Terra 08-01-2007, 07:02 PM Leave as is! kyuss 08-01-2007, 07:02 PM i rest my case MountainDewMike 08-01-2007, 08:36 PM one thread is a cluttered solution. there is no way to organize anything in a single thread. it's going to be ugly edits and quotes of quotes of quotes of quotes. i see 2 options; a) leave as is. b) create another sub-forum that is actively admin'd like the classifieds forum. i personally don't find the constant wts, wtt, wtb spam annoying at all. i usually know of people (in game or irl) that at one time or another want to do one of the 3, so i actually find this forum extremely useful. i also enjoy perusing other peoples chars. i would dread actively doing any kind of character selling/trading/buying outside of this forum. i've not only traded a char successfully (and eventually traded back), but recently bought my first char using this board. each was a easy experience and both parties were completely satisfied. as for breaking tos as if it's some kind of sin; there are plenty of other activities happening on this board that should be occupying your time if that a real concern of yours. it's not like we're dealing drugs over here. and as opposed to the classified forums, i haven't seen too much drama (ppl getting scammed) over the selling, trading, or buying that goes on here (aka none at all). Well said. As someone who has purchased and sold my fair share of accounts this is really the only place I trust these days. With eBay cracking down, playerauctions.com being worthless and Markee Dragon being about as sketch and sketch can be it's nice to have a place to buy/trade/sell with some level of confidence. Not all of us are best friends or anything but it's nice to be able to deal with people you've been gaming with for a number of years or at least flaming each other on these boards. I'd much rather deal with a fellow TWer (members don't count) than some random douche. Whats so hard about making a WTB/WTS/WTT post and just waiting for a PM. Its not like people will be negotiating publicly. What would be so hard about that? Everything would still be offered, so it wont effect buyers or sellers. kyuss 08-01-2007, 11:13 PM Whats so hard about making a WTB/WTS/WTT post and just waiting for a PM. Everything would still be offered, so it wont effect buyers or sellers. theres nothing hard about it, i just think it's unnecessary. look at most of the buy/sell/trade threads. they're very often bogged down with discussion of everything from what a ridiculous price someone is asking, to...something totally off subject. i think turning that into a single thread would just make me (and others) less likely to check it out. the longer it sat there, the less likely people would look at it. how often does anyone check out the stickied threads? same kinda thing. | ||
