JustinCase 07-23-2007, 06:39 PM so worth the 5200 gold, only thing that sucks is that its so fast that once I fly somewhere it takes a second to load up what is actually there 15g now though  NiceBoy 07-23-2007, 07:13 PM so in other words, epic flying is useless for farming? zeph 07-23-2007, 08:08 PM I really dont see much need for an epic flying mount. I will however farm my 5kg. Maybe ill complete my spellfire/spellstrike set on my mage and my spellstrike/shadoweave set on my priest. We shall see! Caswell 07-23-2007, 08:41 PM I have yet to find anyone that can really justify the time spent farming 5200g. No doubt, I'd love to have one. They are faster, and they unlock a bunch of daily quests. However, I am a casual gamer. Blizzard chose to price the epic mount out of reach of gamers that have lives. I play WoW for about 12 hours a week. Most of that, I use as my "wind down" after work. There is no way I'm going to farm after work, I need something fun. That leaves me with about 6 hours on the weekend. 2 months worth of weekends? Spent doing nothing but farming at max speed? That's if I'm lucky. Unless there is some secret farming spot, I top out at about 100g/hr on a good day. On one hand, it's a good thing. I mean, they're "epic"...not everyone is supposed to have them. They really just need to make something a bit slower than an epic flying mount, but faster than a ground epic. Gmankuza 07-23-2007, 09:24 PM uh, it's the best money spent in the game, period. NOw I can do 10 dailys in no time. I was at zero gold 4 weeks ago and jsut doing dailys every second day I'm back up to 4.5 K Learn your daily quests, do them daily, profit. Feannag 07-23-2007, 11:53 PM Honestly all you need is 1000g for the normal flying mount, that is technically enough to get those daily rep quests. You don't have to have the epic one, so it is technically in reach. And don't say I'm wrong, when I first got my flying mount I was whipping around Outlands hitting all the areas I couldn't reach without flying and I got to the area I'm sure now is the Ogre quests (those mobs there were gigantic). So you don't need the epick flying mount, but it most likely helps. StarZ 07-24-2007, 12:20 AM you need 300 riding skill to start the netherwing dailys JustinCase 07-24-2007, 06:39 PM I'm as casual as it gets, I work 60-65 hours a week and just play a couple hours at night. I've been a level 70 for only maybe 2 months if that. I just kept doing quests in netherstorm and did daily stuff, sold some enchant mats, and before I knew it I had 5200g. I also have the shadoweave set and the spellstrike set. Farmed all the mats myself. It's really not that hard. It's really not that hard. When you have to supply 2 flasks a night 3 and sometimes 4 nights a week, plus stat food, plus wizard oils, plus repairs, plus about 10-15 super mana pots each night... shit starts to add up. I get up to about 1k gold maybe once a month, normally that's just going a couple weeks without a raid drop I need to enchant. Before we started raiding SSC though I had almost 4k gold, but decided leveling tailoring was better than an epic mount. I still think I made the right choice and if I had time before raids to do daily quests (I don't.) I'd be kicking myself in the ass for not having one. JustinCase 07-24-2007, 10:36 PM where do I start the quests now that I have the 300 riding skill? 9er 07-24-2007, 11:32 PM I spend all my WoW time in Org/BG/arena/instance/raid. You can't use an epic flying mount in any of those places. I'm not a miner or an herbalist. What the fuck is the point? RedSpider 07-24-2007, 11:34 PM Epic mount is required for outland world pvp. Rho 07-25-2007, 01:47 AM If you don't gather there is very little point. That said, I found it pretty easy to get gold for my mount right after I got 70 by continuing to quest. xpdnc 07-25-2007, 07:46 AM It's so much easier to farm for herbs...a route that normally took 45 minutes takes 15 now. Ratbert 07-25-2007, 09:00 AM Druids are awesome, Swift flight form means that we don't have to pay for the mount. Still 5k for the training though =[ Osiris 07-25-2007, 09:05 AM I had 4k gold when I had done all quests in TBC. Ddrakon 07-25-2007, 09:40 AM Druids are awesome, Swift flight form means that we don't have to pay for the mount. Still 5k for the training though =[ I'm sure farming an additional 200g isn't a problem to someone who just reached 5k. I'm up to about 4900g myself, looking forward to the mount. :) mthd 07-25-2007, 09:42 AM took me about a week, from 0 - 5200, in between work and school. I just farmed primal manas at wizard row - 8-10 per hour at 16-18g a piece. 2-4 hours a day until i had 10 stacks of 20. (granted, selling 200 primal mana also takes about a week without flooding the market) I had previously had 285 enchanting which DEs everything except purple 70s and came out with around 100 greater planar and 200 dust. and 4 blues around 100-200 each. after i sold it all i was sitting around 6200 some tips: theres enough mobs to comfortably accommodate 4 or 5 people max but theres never that many people for long and almost never more than that on my high pop server (gurubashi pvp). So just wait it out and kill what you can till others get the few they likely will only farm and leave. Don't count or xmute every time you have 10 motes.. it will feel like you are farming forever. Just farm till your bags are full, fly to cosmowrench, DE + sell mob trash, then make your primals for space and repeat. occasionally fly to area 52 and send everything to a bank so you can have as much time as possible between breaks. Dont start shit with alliance even if your mom is sitting next to you getting ganked. In a farm area usually opposite factions respect each others space. Occasionally some1 will come looking for a fight. get rolled, and wait for them to leave. basically be a really boring non interactive target :p mthd 07-25-2007, 09:52 AM oops repost cylus 07-25-2007, 10:18 AM I cannot stand farming. I never picked up an epic flying mount, but I've always wanted to try one. | ||
