I want to get back into the shape I was early college... I was playing soccer... 6'4 about 205.... under 10% BF. I want to get back into the shape I was in (4 years ago). The biggest thing for me is losing the fat and getting the endurace back. I need to lose about 30-35 LBS to get to this point (im at about 240 BF went way up). I dont have a problem getting winded and running etc etc... my metabolism is good... i just need to get into a good routine and get back into a "fit" state.

I am looking at running for an hour every morning... this would be interval training, i.e. run a mile/suicides/1600/gainers/pushups/situps in that hour.

At lunch I am going to be doing some more soccer oriented stuff cause i am a panzy (freshing up on my skills).

I plan on doing it 3 times a week this week and then adding an additional day after a week... and trying to keep track of my diet better (writing down calorie intake etc try to keep it around/under 2k

I am not real concerned about my diet... im a big turkey/lean meat/salads kinda guy.... so i get plenty of protein and carbs without the bad fats

and i told my wife to stop baking such delicious items like cheesecake etc... she made me fucking fat.

Most of you have studied this more than me... growing up it was more of a benefit from sports than anything i really put any thought into.

Anyone have any recommendations to be more effective?

Your plan will work as long as you stick to it. The biggest factor in losing weight is calorie intake. Doesn't matter if you're eating healthy if you are still eating excess calories. So figure out how many calories per day it will take you to LOSE weight and try to stick with that.

Don't burn out, figure that there are going to be days when you don't want to be on the diet (I used to give myself one day a week to eat normal) and adjust. Stick with the exercise, it helps. Don't burn out, keep going because it takes time.

I wouldn't go under 2000 dude. Bare minimum calorie intake is 10 times your bodyweight. If you are going to cut that hard you had better be cycling carbs or your metabolism will just drop.

Yea i figure ill stay around 2000-2200... my biggest thing is replacing bad calories with good ones (i.e. healthier food choices... carrots and celery for snacks as opposed to cookies) and moving fluids ;)

my biggest thing will be encouragement and doing it consistently because i've never really had to motivate myself to work out (it was always for a sport again).

To be honest... I want to get back to the level of soccer i was playing in college/hs (i am only a year out) and see if i can get in some minor leagues or where-ever it will take me... I really believe i have the skill i am just in shit shape
