 False, false, false.
I did some research recently to try and determine the most alcohol-efficient drink, namely the most alcohol for the least calories. Yes, if you are really serious about your diet, drinking should be OUT, but I still want to have a little bit of fun 1-2 nights a week. Yet even one night of lawless drinking can really add up.
I was always under the impression that hard alcohol is much more low calorie than beer, but god was I wrong. A shot of pure alcohol has 162 calories. A shot of Vodka has 69 calories, yet is only 40% alcohol.
I figured out the calories/alcohol ratio for a bunch of popular beers, alcohols, and mixers, and some of the stuff is pretty suprising (such as Jagermiester is terrible with 294 calories per 1oz alcohol absorbed.
