everyone has free checking nowadays. c'm on dude, you can get that 10 extra bucks, you know you'll need it eventually.

so is your boss gonna hook you up or **** you?

i imagine he/she will do the latter. i'll be here for a hug if you need it.

what if your boss is a she and she is hot

well i was really ****ed when i thought it was my fault (i.e. i didn't sign the back or something). but the bank said they would have deposited it if that was the case.

so since it's my boss' fault (the payroll lady drew a line instead of a signature) they're not going to **** me

but it's ok because the payroll lady is gross

Tell him/her to pay you in cash from now on. Otherwise learn how to take checks. I'm sure the bank can give you some pro tips.

what are you talking about

He is implying that this is part his fault. He should have noticed that there was no signiture on it. I part agree with him.

10% him not looking, 90% his boss not signing.

Hi.

Me.

It's quite hard, really.

Well, it is until I get these medical bills squared away. Then it won't be a problem anymore.

1) call your bank and explain what happened, ask them if they can cut the nsf fees by 2/3rds (you want to pay $60 instead of $150)
2) settle for $90
3) get paid from boss anyway
4) profit

well that's my point. there wasn't no signature. there was a mark that could have been construed to be a signature. it was enough for me, but apparently not enough for the bank.

i'm not stupid enough to try to deposit an unsigned check :P

i tried, they're being ruthless. apparently they have instituted a "if it's not our fault, you're ****ed" policy. they used to be more accommodating.

as long as i don't have to pay for it in the end i don't care, it just sucks to wake up in the morning and see -$80 instead of +$1000.

that sucks. i don't understand how they charge so much, i've always thought maybe they have to pay other banks a big fee, or the fed, or something, but if what that other guy said is true about it costing banks almost $0 then that is outright robbery. i wonder if the fee is to pay for people who just let the negative balance go.. i don't think the percentage of people who get nsf fees and do that is very high.

i think they do it because they can.

when i was a lot younger, the fee was $10 or $15. eventually it was $25, then $27, and now $30.

also, banks like to do things like charge your account in order from LARGEST transaction to SMALLEST for a given day, regardless of the time of the transaction. this is designed so if the largest transaction overdrafts your account, each small transaction will incur its own $30 fee.

geniusly evil.
