and reasonably priced :)

i'll also remind people that unlike stores, i don't charge sales tax. that alone is another $20 to $30 of savings.

Ohhhh man. SO tempted. I know for a fact I can't afford it, but a 1TB hard drive just makes me wet. Watch your PMs in case I break down :(

seriously wtf, why wouldn't I want to go to Staples or Officemax, BB, and buy this off the rack BRAND new and sealed for $320?

seriously wtf, why wouldn't I want to go to Staples or Officemax, BB, and buy this off the rack BRAND new and sealed for $320?

because they don't sell it at that price? for instance staples (http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesSearch?keyword=1tb&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&errorUrl=searchnoresults&searchSumUrl=searchresult ssummary&searchUnsumUrl=searchresu lts&fromUrl=home) is selling it for $400 + tax =~ $430. ditto for officemax (http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/product/prodBlock.jsp?BV_UseBVCoo kie=yes&prodBlockOID=1611580058&expansionOID=-536892754). and bestbuy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7714128&st=1tb&lp=9&type=product&cp=1&id=1138086674211) is a whopping $800.

even if you bought it for $320 at a store, you would be buying the same exact thing, and after tax at roughly the same price. the benefit would be the return policy that they offer, but nonetheless it comes with a warranty from the manufacturer so that benefit is marginal. however, since it's actually $430 at stores, you'd be saving $80 which is a pretty big discount imo.
