Why I'm not playing T2

Gah, I'm sick of being quoteboy, and I'm taking this thread off topic.

Nat has good points, Leper has good points, and so do the people who enjoy T2.

The only thing I'm sick of is people saying T1 vets don't have the skill to compete, so they refuse to play. It doesn't work that way, but its a crutch you llamas use to support your ineptitude in T1 that may not have carried over to T2.

To each their own. Play what makes you happy.

Don't play because you "have" to.

Play because you want to.

I dunno about you.. but i viewed this thread as a list of complaints about t2.. and a forum to discuss possible fixes, other concerns.. maybe even a steppingstone for a mod or patch to t2 (by the community). A lot of people voiced their concerns, what they agreed and disagreed with, and general constructive ideas.. thx for that.

But it seems that as the pages go on.. it becomes more and more of a bullshit fest than anything else. Retarded comments like "you dont like t2 cause you suck at it" (noted by PowerAut's reply to them) being posted as defense for t2 gameplay just show the actual stupidity of some of the people who read this forum. Further comments such as the TSN army (shade and pub here.. i shouldn't pin all of TSN for their replies) and their pocket answers/solutions to everything dont help things one bit.

If a group of people are interested in moding t2 or t1 (i dont care which game) into a new style of play, and wishes to setup a forum for people to add input in (preferably a modded one to kickout idiots not helping), please do so and drop me a line. I'm lookin for an FPS to play.. can't find one.. so i figure maybe its possible to help make one =)

I mentioned buying the T1 source code for the community and doing what we want with it, but I think it would be hard to convince Dynamix to part with it.

It would be really nice to have though.

Who knows why they released it, maybe they were running out of money. Maybe they needed to sell this game now. Maybe they felt this game was close enough to being a finished product and the rest would be bug fixes, balance tweaks, and roll-out features.

I dont think it requires us to go down to the t1 source code lvl. The gameplay and missions are all script level if i'm not mistaken. Any real changes besides graphic changes, collision detection, and other core stuff you dont want to modify, can be made through them no?

I don't understand why Natural comes in here trying to bring back Tribes 1, when he left the game so early into 90% of teams primes, for the purpose of what? Played out? Lack of interest? If IE had played Tribes 1 to the end (the same can be said about 5150 and S3) Tribes 1 I believe would still be a active, competitive game. Prolly be more than 1 server to play on also. I don't get where this new attitude has come from...this new LETS BRING BACK TRIBES 1. Is this cause you are disappointed in Tribes2? Have you gone in full circle? From LOVING Tribes 1 to losing interest, and now back to LOVING it? I ask, cause I want to understand why you have decided to come and speak out so strongly about Tribes 1, and how we should bring it "back". I'm not flaming Nat, I never have. I'm just trying to understand his actions.

Actually, in T1 MAs were harder, you had less energy, and while skiing was easier to start it took a lot more practice to master.

I responded to your point many times. If you are unsure, go back and read this thread again. A lot of people responded to your point.

Locke: source code would be necessary to refine the game and remove the bugs, i.e. flag skips, terrain bumps (the ones that stop you completely in the middle of a route), and non-regs.

You could do a lot without the source code, but you could do a lot more with it.

I don't recall you posting bashing T1, how you didn't like it, it didn't hold the same thrill... you simply chose not to play it anymore.

If people don't like T2, then don't play it anymore.
Mod it, do whatever you have to do, but bitching about it for the sake of bitching serves absolutely no purpose.

My Whole point heres isn't to trash the T1 vets that don't play, who cares really, they like it, great!, see ya in the servers. If you don't, oh well, try Renegades T1 if you want something Different.
But don't try to say that T2 is a Crappier Game that T1. We all like whatever we like, but just because you dislike the game for one reason or another, doesn't mean the game sucks.
FYI Giga: [u] dropped from all the ladders and is essentially dead, and you joined 9th Circle to play T1. Its quite obvious what your position on T2 is.
