I'm tired of typing. Feel free to flame, or add more to the list.
The tribes community is what made this sequel possible, yet most of us were utterly ignored. Ten years from now when people look back at T2, the greatness of Tribes 2 will be measured by its sales. And the artists of the original Tribes (whom we all owe a immeasurable amount of respect), most of which have left Dynamix, will soon be forgotten.
While this post is critical flame, it is also a pledge of thanks. An acknowledgement that although the sequel was tainted, I respect original the Dev TEAM members who created the first game, this community, and made our online lives memorable.

At the risk of a "me too" .. natural you are the man on this one. Although I will play T2 because of clan commitments and the desire for my clan to succeed .. you have said it all in a nutshell. T2 is a faded shadow of what T1 was.

T2 may suck, but it's still miles ahead of the other FPS crap out right now. However bad it is, what is there really to turn to at present? Even if T2 doesn't give me the same adrenaline rush T1 did, I still don't consider it a waste of HD space.

T2 is slow and boring and dumbed down - most of the people who say it is just right now are people who were mediocre in T1 - you lack the tactical skills and the reflexes to compete in the highspeed environment of T1 so you feel right at home in T2 - now that everyone moves at the same speed, you dont have to deal with elite players who can out ski, our chain and generally out play your sorry ass.
T2 is a total fucking joke, it is a game without a soul.

Don't hold back tell us how you really feel. Sorry you can't get out of the past. T2 is the future no matter how much you flame those of us who like it. Sure you can call us all the names and tell us why we suck compared to you (or whoever you want) but the fact remains your time is past. Now there's three ways you can handle this
1) Go out being an asshole
2) Go out with a little dignity
3) Try to learn a new game (T2 or what ever you find more enjoyable)
but knowing these boards its gonna be option no.1 for about 90% :hrm:

T1 had tons of teamwork but T2 requires more.

T2 is still a fun game.
The thing that kills this game more than anything is the pubs. Pubs really suck and will always suck. Most of the time is spent on pubs in any online game.
T2 does have cowboys, and they are noticeable.
Just like in T1, Pub games do not reflect what occurs in matches.

You are so WRONG on that point. There is MANY awsome tribes 1 players playing T2 and LOVING IT-I am 1. Just because the "majority" of IE isnt playing T2, doesnt mean most Tribes 1 elite arn't. IE was awsome, the best in there erra-but there is HUNDREDS of other AWSOME players, playing T2, that played T1 right up to the end.

Why should we have to give the game all these chances? I don't see why I should treat T2 any different then any game I buy. Just because its a sequel of a great game does not mean it gets special privileges in my book. If When I buy any game I beat the single player if there is one or I jump online and try it out. I will find a few servers and try it out, if I have a bad game I move on to another, but if I just find that the game sucks or is boring I drop it, end of story. I don't sit and think that maybe I should force myself to sit and play a game I don't enjoy for a few more days or maybe I should try to join a clan so I can see how matchplay is. If a game isn't fun at the most basic level which is the down and dirty pub play then there is no reason for me to get into it. I can't live on matches alone and I don't see why I should have to. I payed for a game I enjoy all the time not just after joining a tribe and playing 2 matches a week.

Yeah - thats what all the whiny HPB bitches say - until they become LPB and then they realize that there are plenty of LPBs that suck - the LPBs that are really good are so because of practice.
I used to practice an easy 12-22 hours per week - I was a really good LPB chain slut - among really good LPB chain sluts.
And there were plenty of fast route cappers with crappy pings - skiing had very little to do with ping.
So go crawl back under your rock.
