I'm opening up the discussion. Many of you are regulars. What do you want to see in it? Who will maintain it? What are the criteria for being "whitelisted"?
It needs to be fair and it needs to make sense. Feel free to suggest/link to ideas from other forums.
TheGhost 06-05-2007, 07:08 PM i nominate hoo man
Chimera 06-05-2007, 07:32 PM I see what you did there...
id say have someone be the go to man when theres a successful or unsuccessful deal. so on the white list, itll say who traded with who, what they traded, and comments if possible. this way, when someone wants to buy something from some, theyd get to look at this organized white list and see basically what their rating is. same goes for the seller, they can look at the customer and see how reliable they are and shit.
At what point does a member get his name on the Whitelist? You can't sell a pencil box and be immediately whitelisted. This is something for regulars -- people who have proven themselves trustworthy sellers/buyers.
alright so have a certain amount that makes u a classifieds member, say 2 or 3 items bought and/or sold? 4? i guess thats something we can have a poll on.
Slobax 06-06-2007, 12:18 AM I'm a regular :)

I think it should be a dollar amount. Maybe $100 or something.

Possibly.
Need more suggestions. I'll leave this stickied & open for a few weeks.
TheGhost 06-06-2007, 06:23 PM Just make it a reseller rating thing, I know I've forgotten half the transactions I've made via TW :(
Nomad 06-06-2007, 07:43 PM grandfather in the people who have a very proven track record!
Slobax, Nomad, Scud, dangerdoggie, others.
Fastsupra 06-08-2007, 01:23 AM I like this idea
Ender 06-09-2007, 01:22 AM The criteria should never be shared on how to get onto the "whitelist". Say if someone sold a bunch of shitty stuff because he needed 3 excellent items and then scammed on a 1500 display.
All I'm saying is it's a good idea but the criteria to make the "whitelist" shouldn't be public knowledge.
It would be pretty easy to figure out.
Manticore 06-09-2007, 06:08 AM This could potentially be exploitated if a person creates two accounts, and pretends to have successful sell/buy going on between those two accounts in order to build up his credibility, and then rip geniune buyers off.
strages 06-09-2007, 11:33 AM I'm sure the admins would catch someone posting from the same IP on 2 different accounts. Besides, I think most people deal with the classifieds based on vet status.
As for criteria, someone nominate someone else, and Data can decide, based on what he's seen in the classifieds.

Smurfs are checked for regularly. A smurf check takes 30 seconds.
strages 06-11-2007, 12:51 PM I nominate TheGhost. Bought the wii off him. Good communication. There was even shipping problems with fedex and he cleared everything up ASAP.
