KillerONE 06-05-2007, 09:41 PM I loved SimCity 3000, SimCity on NES back in the day rocked. I have SimCity 4 with Rush Hour, I just never have been able to get into it. Although any game that requires a lot of time and energy I haven't played in a few years.. so it could be that.
Evil Light Bulb 06-05-2007, 09:57 PM Sim City 4 is nice, but to play it 'optimally' requires too much boring 'search for building x to make minor slider adjustment.' I hope they optimize that.
Looking forward to getting my GFW magazine, I'll post links when they are available.
FishStix 06-05-2007, 10:16 PM Sim City 4 is by far the best. I love the micromanaging, it makes the game so much deeper and better.

HypnosisFX 06-06-2007, 06:42 AM It took me a year to fill the complete map on SC4. i was taking my time and making sure that i had no dead spots, Cant wait for this one.
Fox k 06-06-2007, 09:08 AM SC3 was 30 times better than 4.

SimCity Societies PC Game, SimCity Societies (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3160082)
I really dug SimCity 4's complexity. I hope they go into even more detail.
However, I hated adjusting the sliders because buildings would grow over them making them hard to locate, I would OCD and micromanage all of my city's facilities to run at like 1 or 2 people above capacity and finally that part of the game wouldn't be too hurt with a simple AI that kept capacity above a certain level :] Again, with everything else I hope they go into more detail.
Also for what it's worth the game will not be developed by Maxis :x
KillerONE 06-06-2007, 01:17 PM No Maxis?? Wtf?!?!
thereal Shaolinmonk 06-06-2007, 10:35 PM links don't work.
FishStix 06-07-2007, 02:19 AM SC3 was 30 times better than 4. god damned lies, SC4 is by far better. SC3000 is ridiculously easy.
And wait, what? No Maxis?
Fuck
Got Haggis? 06-07-2007, 09:49 AM Tilted Mill are making it. They are a good group.

This game is going to be very different.
By SimCity creator Will Wright's own admission, previous SimCity games had become too complex for most. Tilted Mill is focusing on scaling back the complexity and micromanagement of latter entries like SimCity 4 -- no pipes to lay, no power grids, no manual emergency-response funds to disperse, no individual building-funding. The series' hardcore fans shouldn't worry that the game will no longer be recognizable or too easy. "We are not out to fix something that's broken," promises lead designer Chris Beatrice.
Hurricane Harold 06-09-2007, 03:59 PM Wow. I don't know how to feel about this one.
FishStix 06-17-2007, 02:14 PM I love Micromanaging though :(
Being able to change the funding of individual Police Stations and Schools was one of my favorite new features of SC4.
dgamer 06-18-2007, 12:55 PM looks like i'll be skipping this one and staying with sc4.
EagleScream 06-24-2007, 01:40 PM Greetings,
The screenshots of it (Sim V) look like SimLife which sucked. More interested in the Monte Carlo city sim that is in the works. The next stage of SimCity needs to be set up like evercrack or W2W to be honest using the stuff they got in the sims (and no it would not suck if they did it my way - not noting everything I hope to get my name in the game if they ever use it in sim5 or sim6 - What? I have an ego problem?!). :P
Sincerely, Eagle Scream
selfcomposting 07-05-2007, 03:58 PM i cant believe the sims is still making new ones. its so basic.
