As blue-laser pick-up heads (PUHs) for use in the PlayStation 3 (PS3) are expected to increase in supply and decrease in price, the production cost of the game console could be reduced by as much as US$100, according to Taiwan-based makers of game consoles and components.

fuck you and your agenda!!
;)
PS3 is still losing per console and 360 is now gaining per console
So pretty much now they're just losing $200 per console, and are still pretty fucked.
Gogo Sony.

neither console will do a price cut before november.
and ps3 certainly aren't gonna do a cut while they still loose 100s per console. their shareholders would have them hung, drawn, and quartered.

I predict XBox360 will drop to $349 or lower before Christmas.

Xbox will drop before Christmas.. PS3 won't drop until 2009 and Nintendo probably won't drop in price until Christmas 2008.

Nintendo could easily drop the Wii price before Christmas if they want, it's not like they would stop making profits off the hardware anyways.

True. But since they dont' expect to meet demand until some time next year, there's no reason to drop the price. It's still lower than the other two consoles and it's still selling like hotcakes.
There's absolutely no good reason to drop the price for the Wii.

And funny thing is that dropping the price of Wii will not hurt Nintendo at all, because the console was always designed to be cheap.
Even if Sony drops the price of PS3 to something like $500 it is still too much.
