Fallout 3 Trailer out June 5th

Bethesda will release the teaser trailer for their new Fallout 3 on June 5th. I have the odd feeling that this will piss more people off then make them happy when it comes out because I see Beth making this a first person RPG, which will suck.

I really dont see this sucking. An Oblivion-like RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world?

How about you add to the equation that a majority of the people working on the project are huge fans of the series. Or that the company has a track record of releasing insanely successful titles - met with critical praise. Or maybe that the lead developer has said, time and time again, that he is happy that the license ended up with Bethesda and believes that they are one of the best, if not the best, candidate to make the next incarnation of Fallout.

When you have one of the people most responsible for making the game praising the new developer, and in-turn the new direction, maybe it's time to pull your head out of your ass.

I'm a huge Fallout fan, since day one, and I'm excited to see where Bethesda is going to take this series.

In fact, Fallout 1 & 2 are better than most games ever made. They have aged extremely well and should not be meddled with by a company that censors curse words in their forums and creates relatively linear sandbox games with little room for roleplaying and no actual consequences for doing anything.

Simply put: Fallout 3 is too much game for a company like Bethesda to handle. I hope they prove me wrong, I really do, but there's a much greater chance they'll get this completely wrong.

Since Oblivion is one of the coolest PC games because of what the modding community has made of it, I'm actually looking forward to Fallout 3. However it turns out in Bethesdas hands.

2. Oblivion sucked and had a slightly less shitty combat system. The only thing that makes Oblivion worthwhile are user made mods.

May 8, 2007 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks® is pleased to announce that highly acclaimed international actor Liam Neeson will lead the cast providing voice work in Fallout 3. Neeson will play the role of the player’s father and will appear prominently throughout the game. Fallout 3 is currently under development at Bethesda Game Studios, creators of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion®, which won numerous Game of the Year and RPG of the Year awards in 2006.

“This role was written with Liam in mind, and provides the dramatic tone for the entire game,” said Todd Howard, Executive Producer of Fallout 3. “Liam is absolutely amazing to work with.”

Neeson is known for starring roles in blockbuster films such as Schindler’s List, Star Wars: Episode I, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Batman Begins. Throughout his illustrious career, Neeson has been the recipient of numerous honors for his work in film and theater, including Academy Award, Golden Globe and Tony Award nominations.

“It’s been a pleasure bringing the father to life and working with the wonderfully talented people at Bethesda on Fallout 3,” said Neeson. “I hope the fans of the franchise and the game will be excited by the results.”



Could be scary if they do what they did with Oblivion and try to have everything voiced (which means less actual dialogue).
It better fucking have Ron Perlman narrating.

I would rather they not tamper with the formula that made fallout 1 and 2 great but id rather someone try to take a stab at trying to create same greatness rather than let it die
