leveling as a holy paladin is brutal

atleast doing anything solo is

group questing with a 70 warrior who botted and right as he hit 70 equipped a thunder. none of the quests from 60-70 got done for him, so he's running through them with me for tons of $$$. how the fuck can you 70 paladins stand to be holy though? whenever i'm doing something solo it's judge crusader, put on righteousness and holy shock when it's up. am i doing it wrong? i'm also doing the same thing in pvp, but i'll judge justice if they are on a mount and running by me

i'm a mega pally newb, but being a kickass healer in the 5mans is the shit. i'm rocking quested healing gear + ramparts/BF healing drops at 62. by 70 we plan to run a 2x paladin, 2x warrior, random dps arena team and i'm looking forward to being holy for that. but am i playing holy right for solo pvp/questing?

If you're dedicated to holy then yeah, you're basically doing the right thing. Rank 1 Consecrate can add some dps without killing your mana immediately like max rank does.

Leveling as ret would probably be more enjoyable though.

judge crusader -> SoR -> Rank 1 Consecrate (does ~100DPS for 100mana every 8 seconds with decent gear) -> Holy shock -> keep judging SoR, Holy shocking and Consecrating as you need to.

I recommend getting imp SoR, the one that reducing consecrates cost, benediction, imp judgement and imp sotc while leveling.

I level my paly as holy right up to about 68 when I picked up some prot to get Kings.

Holy paly doesn't kill extremely fast but you can take on stuff that several levels above you without a problem. Palys don't have as many dead spots for quests because you can take on harder stuff, which is why I found it faster leveling compared to taking my mage 60-70.

You are lucky to have a warrior to team with, a warrior teamed with any healing class is great. My roommate and I played my paly and his warrior together from time to time in the 60-70 range, we just pulled 3 mobs at a time and rolled thought piles of crap.

Ok get spell damage and healing gear on and use concentration aura. I would not do this on mobs that interrupt your heals knockdown, bash etc... and just consecrate heal yourself keep doing this until they die collect loot. You can aoe stuff mages cant doing this.
