level 50 mage leveling spec?

trying to talk my gf into trying Fire (currently arcane) give me a good talent tree please ;)

If she wants an easy build that's great for pve and some pvp I would suggest this at 50...

wouldnt frost be better... you can kill like 20 mobs at once that way.

I'd strongly encourage you try a 41 frost build for leveling. The Water Elemental has saved me from many a corpse run, Frostbite/Nova + Shatter offers crits-on-demand, and the mana efficiency blows fire away.

10% CHANCE to stun the target for 2 seconds.. over 0.5 seconds off your fireball cast every time.. That might not seem a lot but when a rouge is running at you its the difference of him getting the gouge off or not. I can see just putting one point into impact but imp fireball is a nice thing.

Fire builds for pvp are just plain dead now with what can be done as ice. if she wont listen to you try this.

I cant stess this enough. With out Imp mana shild or ice barrier you are going to die. Period...

Now i've seem some amazing people make the full fire work in some crapsastic gear but they have been playing a mage from beta. So their skill level is a lot higher in order to do this.

anyway with this build you get Imp mana shild. you get POM For that Pom pyroblast macro. You can spam scorch. excellent for BGs. Imp arcane explosion i find works nice for pvp and pve as well with imp mana shield. You also have blazing speed which has saved my ass so many times in pvp.

This is the build i used on my mage to grind out my full GM set after the patch. Worked really well for me.

also imp fireball is one of the few talents whose reduced cast time is considered in the +spell dmg penalty. in other words, you will only recieve 3.0/3.5 (86%) of the benefits of +dmg as opposed to 3.5/3.5 (100%) without the talent.

this is an unfortunate exception to the rule that cast time reduction does not affect +dmg penalties.
