Neither of those things would stop anything. Remember what happened when prohibition was passed? And you call americans ignorant of history.

Excuse me? I'm sorry but you are just plain wrong. Look at countries like England and Canada their gun murder rate is much lower and we have less guns and it's more difficult to get guns AND we have a less violent society. I think that proves my point right there. You may not agree with it but blaming the parents is just stupid. It's society and the gun laws that are the issue not the parents.

It's obvious the problems is twofold.

1) easy access to guns -

Orbital - this has almost nothing to do with guns. The weapon is not the issue. I am surprised that you didn't say we should do away with "easy access to girlfriends".

POLICE SAY THERE MAY BE SOMEONE ELSE INVOLVED IN THE MASSACRE AT VA TECH, IN ADDITION TO THE DEAD SHOOTER

It just keeps getting worse.

you can't fix this shit...people need to stop coming up with bullshit solutions and accept the fact that SHIT HAPPENS.

We will spend the next god knows how long dealing with it, but thats just the plain hard truth.

If you want safty fine we can live in a police state and maybe be a little safer.

If we like to walk around camus, enter it from any direction you want, live the college life there is the small risk stuff like this happens.

Its very sad and its too bad you can already see the vultures trying to find a way to make gain for themselves from all these kids who died.

Also, I wonder what the history books will have to say about these shootings in modern society.

When I hear the word massacre I think of the Boston Massacre. Civilians start throwing rocks at ... redcoats and are shot. We don't just get in quarrels and kill each other anymore. We go on suicidal rampages. Why? No one knows why.

Maybe more population + it's easier to kill people these days with technology.

Orby while i agree with you on gun laws, and happily live somewhere with strict gunlaws. Its simply never gonna happen in the U.S. In someways to them its what makes america, america. To everyone on the outside its the most retarded thing in the world (and it is), but they aren't gonna give it up. So if there are changes to be made, to reduce events such as this, its not gonna be in the area of stronger gun laws. Stupidly enough, i could probably see it going the other direction first. I would have thought you would have realised this by now. Its not exactly rocket science to figure out america's obsession with firearms.

the goth kid that shot up Dawson college in Canada last year was legally armed with a Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine, a Glock and a Norinco HP9-1 short barreled shotgun. It took him forever to get them but he had all the permits.

point being? Where did I say that stricter gun laws would stop all gun deaths? It would reduce them though. You would have to do more than just restrict gun sales. I would say that anyone under 25 shouldn't be allowed to own a weapon and like I said should undergo a psychological evaluation before they are allowed to even be considered legal to buy a weapon. The choice of their weapon should be part of the evaluation as well.

The less violent society part is where your argument falls apart.

Oh I realize that I'm yelling into deaf ears but I'm going to speak my peace anyway. They can ignore it and I know they will but it's the honest truth and if they really looked at the issue they would see it for themselves.

Your actually trying to argue that Canada and England are just as violent as the US? Are you kidding me?

There's no possible way the US could get rid of all of it's guns.

i love commentary from outside the US on events that take place here. Expertise like this is hard to find outside of tribalwar.
