There was already a person on earlier declaring that we needed to arm everyone and get rid of porn(?!) and media/video game violence. This before we knew a damn thing about the circumstances or the shooter(s?).

prisoner broke out of custody at the hospital killing a security guard and wounding a deputy. He later killed another cop on one of the trails near campus. he was found hiding that night near said trail. That's the basics of it. I might have missed a few details. He was convicted of robbery earlier this year and stands trial for murder later.

Waco had over 90 casualties; men women and children were all burned alive by the Army after the BATF failed to peacefully.serve an illegal, improperly filled out warrant for a gun search. They leader of the Branch Davidians, having relations with the sheriff, basically invited them in to search; he didn't want any trouble.

BATF fired into the building first, which is something their own video's showed, and while they were firing .22's and 9mm's, the Davidians were firing 50 cals and 45 magnums back. The davidians took 2 casualties, BATF took 7, 5 of which died.

The BATF made another major mistake; they continued firing until they were out of ammunition. The branch davidians, still having a bunch of ammo as well as cover, allowed them to retreat.

Turned into a 90 day or so standoff, finally the army came in, rammed two sections of the building, filled it with white phosphorus (which melts skin BTW), then lit it afire with tracer rounds.

They had 24 hour spin coverage on that one for about a week if memory serves.

This is so absolutely horrible. It's been a weird day for me. Perfect weather and a lot of relaxation, but I've kept thinking about this shooting at the same time. It's just so senseless. I just don't understand it.

They were talking to some sort of dean or something for VT tech, and whoever was covering the story (the voice over) basically said and I quote

"There is little we can do to prevent this and it will happen again"

call me ignorant if you want, but I feel that more should be done to prevent this type of incident from happening this is getting out of hand. What if it happens again, and again how many times does it need to happen before it is SERIOUSLY looked at and preventitive measures are taken to prevent it. Instead of just saying "oh well, nothing we can do it will happen again thats for sure"

Yeah.. the guy is right. Short of placing multiple armed guards in every room w/ clear lines of sight to every point in the room.. yeah it's gonna happen again, possibly w/ devastating numbers.
