Shooting on VA Tech campus

I don't see why anyone with a supply of guns like that last Asian guy would use pistols to shoot up a school. It was pistols, right? Unless the dude has a couple pistols in his trunk or something, and he didn't decide to start shooting people until he got to school.

How does it not get through their thick skulls that the cops are trying to get every detail correct and a 100% positive ID on the suspect and victims before releasing info?
