Lord Elessar 04-16-2007, 05:01 PM hi just checking this thread again.. have they revised the kill count of the democrats? .. oops lol sorry i mean students
saying that about VT. You're talking about a school with roots in agriculture and the military that has recently been promoting it's engineering program. That's about as far as you can get from left wing in higher education.
Vulcan 04-16-2007, 05:01 PM Honestly, I wish the answer was to just ban all guns. If it were that easy I would vote YES YES YES! But there is no real answer. Well, maybe the answer is to put a police team (2 guys) per every high school campus and more police on university campuses for quick response.
However, as I understand it, the police were immediately on the scene and no able to disarm/kill the gunman. I know at my college, we have a shit load of police on campus. But if a guy chains the doors, then they can't do shit.
So logically, there has to be a way to immediately empower the individuals that the gunman is facing, and the only thing I can think of is passing out CCW permits to trained individuals.
I hate these situations.
I can't tell if people in this thread are serious that having more guns would help solve situations like this.
Yes, they would. Criminals and people like this will always have guns, if you 'ban guns', it doesn't do a shitload of good because people can hide them.
JuggerNaught 04-16-2007, 05:02 PM Even drunk I could out wit you baldy.
you cant even spell outwit slackjaw.
Here's the reason nothing was done...... The shooting was thought to have been an 'isolated incident' and the VT President says they thought the gunman may have left the campus, or even the state, after the first shooting.
That is absolutely retarded.
Danno 04-16-2007, 05:03 PM I am 44 pages late to this.
That is absolutely retarded.
why?
amRam 04-16-2007, 05:04 PM why?
Its retarded because they assumed the guy just ran off...
Its a dumb thing to assume.

That's not what they should have assumed. They assumed the best when they should have assumed the worst which is what happened.
