Shooting on VA Tech campus

so i havent heard yet...did they shoot the guy? did he shoot himself? is he still at large

I can't tell if people in this thread are serious that having more guns would help solve situations like this.

My initial reaction was pretty close to this. Although I can imagine people are in an intense state of shock, it really suprises me that no one ever attempts to attack the shooter while they're replacing magazines.

Well, if he was carrying two, I imagine he would've left one loaded while reloading the other.

That said, they still should've rushed him. If some guy chains the doors and is going to fucking kill you, do what you can.. christ.

It only takes a second to reload a semi-auto handgun...

Scuzzle sounds like a geniunely nice guy, and I believe him when he say he truly cares, not just about the people who died today at VT, but people who die across the globe.

It's a shame inkja had to single him out in his reply, but the reality of it is that inkja's statement does correctly apply to pretty much everyone.

I mean seriously, how many of you give a shit about people who die in Iraq/Afghanistan/Darfur/Ethiopia or any other place for that matter? He shot himself. They're still looking into whether or not the shooting in the morning and later are connected.

Give them all the safety classes you want, that's not going to stop them from popping a cap in their gf/bf's ass after they found out they were cheating on them or something of that nature. Same goes for some teacher that gave them detention.

I think they should train the students in middle school like you said, but never give them guns unless it's an absolute emergency like someones trying to shoot up the school. Keep them some place in the school and only use them when necessary.

This is incredibly sad and scarey to me, it always hits a little bit closer to home when you realise that this was just a normal day to these people until he shot them.

Here's the reason nothing was done...... The shooting was thought to have been an 'isolated incident' and the VT President says they thought the gunman may have left the campus, or even the state, after the first shooting.

Another confirmed dead.. 33 dead now including the killer.

Someone posted earlier that the shooter might have been named "Windel" the police cheif is named "Wendel" so I'm thinking it is just confusion - still no shooter name anywhere that I can find.
