Shooting on VA Tech campus

This is funny, they still don't have metal detectors everywhere?

It's a huge campus. But how did they not lock the school down and immediately end classes?

Well I'm from country where it is almost impossible to buy a pistol, my dad once had one but police took it away and never gave it back. That was the last time I saw one outside the army.

And I don't see stuff like this happening much in Europe, because people will notice if someone is walking towards a school with a hunting rifle, basically the only firearm a civilian can get here, and even then it is not easy.

It wouldn't be hard to do that here. You can pull right up to the doors (locked or not) and bust the glass out, then you are inside the school and can begin shooting.

The guy was wearing a maroon cap and a black leather jacket - not exactly out of the ordinary for a windy day in southwestern virginia. Wasn't like he was toting around a shot gun or an assault rifle.

Have you ever been to a major state college? They are huge housing thousands of people designed to be confusing to deter large protests and riots.

They should have at least shut down the campus then if they knew they wouldn't be able to find him.

They should have at least shut down the campus then if they knew they wouldn't be able to find him.

They told people to either stay in the classroom or in their dorm. There isn't much else they could have done with the man power available.

That's what I'm thinking...... It's possible (from that interview with that girl) that people thought it was someone jumping off a bed or something, and it wasn't discovered to be a shooting until the perp had left.
