Is this thing for real good? I'm about ready to relapse back into an MMO and try WoW when finals are over.

My friends play on Deathwing, and I think Im gonna roll NE rogue to start off.

I've roughly followed it, currently at lvl 59

Does anyone have one for horde?

Joana's guide for horde

What class did you play? Is it easy to follow if you've never played before?

I personally found myself going a bit slower overall using the guides. I found that it was easier to just go to an area and wing it on the quests while checking thottbot on locations from time to time. Having to constantly reference the guide over and over makes the game VERY boring also. It kind of takes the immersion away.

Same. Sometimes I check a guide before I start playing at whatever level to get a general idea of where to be if I can't think of one myself, but I tried following it word for word before and ended up getting bored out of my mind and starting a new char (didn't hurt that it was a paladin and killing things took a solid minute).

Ive been following the guide since my mid 40's and Im 55 now. It gives a good idea of what zone to head to but sometimes it seems to slow down a bit.

it's made for hunters... some classes will have a harder time with it.

for the lower levels it's pretty good, especially if you're in the draenini starting areas making a draeni whatever. In zones where you can just do stuff from memory, it will slow you down having to check back and forth.

I have a friend who's gonna e-mail the horde guide to me ... I'll consider posting it, I know there's some sort of copyright issues involved

I prefer Jame's guides to Brian's. I've started using it on my BE pally, and was blazing through lvls way faster than when I was doing it by memory.

Only caveat is that his guides don't start until lvl 30, so you have to handle 1-29 on your own. Just like Brian's guide, he skips most group stuff so you can solo pretty much the whole time. For the group quests he does suggest, he offers good grinding spots to use as alternatives for those who have no friends.

Jame's Alliance leveling Guide - Chapter I (30-41) | World of Warcraft Pro (http://www.wow-pro.com/node/600) for the start of his Alliance guide. Links are there for his Horde stuff, too.

I used Kopp's on my shaman. Did 1-60 in about 5 days played casually. Great money, great rep, and moved quicker than my other guildies grinding their shamans more often than myself.

I've been following Jame's guide for my DShammy and got him to 42 in 3 days /played. Not bad but I'm open to try others...

I never made an alt so i played my rogue 2+ years at 60, you kinda forget how unorganized pre bc leveling was.

BC was nice, go to new quest hub get 30 quests there, when your done it tells you go to next quest hub.

pre BC there are like 15 quests for every area that you dont even get in that area so its easy to miss em.

Here's the four guides that I found on Demonoid: WoW Guides (http://siorai.com/stuff/wow/wowguides.rar)

Brian Kopp Alliance 1-70
Horde 1-60
Joana's Horde 1-60
Burning Crusade Horde and Alliance

I haven't really looked over them that much. They seem pretty comprehensive, but I'd much rather just play the game since it's my first time really playing it with the intention of continuing.

Yeah, following a guide for your main toon is a waste. You miss the immersion factor and end up bored rather than entertained. Once you've gone through most of those quests it's nice having a comprehensive guide to follow since most people don't bother to memorize every single quest detail.
