I don't know about you, but apart from being majorly screwed in the gear dept (non-raiding 70 rogue with the worst fucking roll luck ever), I just don't have the desire to play that I did before. I still sometimes have fun with it, but I'm now at the point where I'm trying to think of creative ways to breathe life into the game.

I have a belief on why it's getting boring but before I post my opinion, I'm curious to hear yours.

Because my /played is over 30 days. Think about it - what other game (or activity period) can you spend 720 hours on in a year or two and not be bored with it?

Guitar Hero 2 is my new addiction.

I whole-heartedly believe me not going axesmith and continuing my love affair with an extra +5% crit is the reason I quit.

Good thing I wanted to try something new and use swords... fuckin brilliant ... sigh.

Well that's the problem. You spend 2-3 hours clearing an instance only to have your time wasted by a /random. Get a guild or find some friends. This isn't an fps where you can log in, pug it and have fun.

I ran Naxx pre-BC, and I don't have the time nor the inclination to raid any longer. Now maybe it's because I'm a rogue, and BC to me feels like the caster expansion, but it just seems so much more front-end loaded for work vs reward. Maybe I'm just not up to the commitment any longer. Shrug, just my thoughts.

by now if you arent raiding your not standing a chance in 2000+ arena anyways.

I reach this point about 5-8 months after I start playing. I've quite twice, and come back (just came back for the EXP about 2 months ago). I'll probably get bored at somepoint and stop playing, only to come back

It's real easy to get burned out on a game, especially considering the amount of raiding required to do anything. I like to have some semblance of a life, and I just can't bring myself to devote 6 hours of my saturday to sitting in an instance.

One of the funnest times I've had in WoW was rerolling on a brand new server. It provided a nice break at the time, you don't have to worry about twinks, and finding groups to run most instances is relatively easy.

I dunno, I got pretty bored with the game last summer and logged on to just pvp with some people I had been playing with since release. There's nothing that says you have to play 5 hours a day to have fun, just play when you feel like it and set small goals (certain rep gain, certain weapon, pvp rank, its all grinding anyway) and the game can still be fun.

Nothing wrong with losing interest in a game.

I recently found some friends from another online game who rolled on my server, and that's sone incentive to stave off boredom for me. Then again I just hit 70 (lvling a hunter was pretty fast) and I don't plan on hoarding gold for an epic flying mount. I guess it depends on your mentality. At times I found myself struggling to play when I was solo and without a guild/people I knew but when you do find people you know to play with it makes the game less boring.

i'm having less interest since some irl homies stopped playing (mountaindewmike is a certified fgt) but i have found new life in the game with arena. i don't know why the fuck i didnt do it sooner, but i got into last week and it's the most intense fun i've had playing wow.

and yea, as a warrior i am looking forward to the arena gear upgrades. i need some really bad.

jk, you rolled a ROGUE???

Your options:

1. go play your warrior, you fuckface :)
2. focus entirely on arena and endgame pvp (again)
3. twink

I find raiding just as boring as ever. I go on raids and have a little fun, but i quickly just roll my eyes and no longer get much joy out of new boss kills or new raiding gear (yawn).

I can barely put in effort to farm, but at least i can make good $$ fast since i got my epic mount right away. I dont care about rep grinding. I'm not after badges.

I mostly grind pvp, again, gearing up for long-term arena fun.

My arena teams suck ass atm (i thought the season was gonna be over now and i could put more serious teams together). I intend to raid a bit here/there but to mostly just keep doing what i enjoy in wow: pvp.

Heck, i'd even see moving my lock off malganis to build a nightly arena team, down the road. :brows:
