Your network isn't configured correctly. Make sure DCOM is running on the machines or it won't authenticate. This is mainly a problem with win2000 machines. dcomcnfg.exe is your friend.

It works great so far, on the slow side buy all things considering I will continue to tinker around with it. I'll do a second scan once I have configured all of my devices to recognize correctly and see if it takes as long.

Hmm it locked up when trying to connect to the admin console of one of my switches through the interface. This is probably due to HP's software conflicting though, no biggie. It is a nice feature though.

we only have one w2k machine and it identified fine...i think most of my problems are regular workstations showing up as unknown. it also doesnt seem to like our DC at all.

yeah, make sure you're using domain admin creds...

might also help to use a seperate user, like create a domain admin JUST for that...

Doesn't work very well if you don't have a domain. :-(

What's interesting is we're installing a new digital phone system here, but it's not hooked into the network yet. I'm curious to see what I can monitor about it from the software.

The scanning is pretty slow, but for a free distro it's pretty cool so far.

What kind of phone system?

Make sure the XP SP2 machines don't have windows firewall enabled.
