New WD 400Gb SATA II HD not being recognized

So I can't figure out how to get the new wd sata hd I hooked up to be recognized--either by windows or in bios.

I have the 1008 bios on the A7N8X Deluxe (rev1.04), drivers installed from Silicon Image, and drivers installed from Western Digital, but my system still doesn't see the hard drive.
The hard drive is even hot to the touch and I've checked it's power & data cable connections twice.

If anyone could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated.

WD 120Gb PATA

Well I have to ask the obvious...


Did you enable SATA controller in BIOS settings?

I don't have an option for "SATA controller" in BIOS
