After looking high and low for a suitable power conditioner and noise filter for my computer (the power in my house is horrible and I get signs of bad power in my monitor's screen, etc), I finally found one that fits the bill.
It was suggested I go with a UPS/line conditioner from APC. APC loves selling these apparently (probably because of replacement battery sales), and while they had most of the features I wanted (Automatic voltage regulation, etc), the UPS wasn't a necessity. To get one with the power I wanted (1200-1500VA), I was looking at about $200 for a solid one with AVR.
The tricky part is the AVR on a lot of them just boost the voltage, and not trim. To get an UPS with AVR that has both boosting and trimming of incoming voltage, you had to go with a fairly expensive model (as I said, 200+ dollars). So I almost gave up.
A week or so later I stumbled across this: Amazon.com: APC VOLTAGE REG 1200VA-110V 120V 127V ( LE1200 ): Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/APC-VOLTAGE-1200VA-110V-120V-LE1200/dp/B00009RA60/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-2848731-5206324?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174589238&sr=8-1)
APC VOLTAGE REG 1200VA-110V 120V 127V
Basically, a voltage regulator with no hassle specs:
It boosts, trims, and has noise filtering, and 4 sockets.
On top of that, it's $52 with free shipping (even though the amazon saver shipping is crazy slow, practically 2 weeks, I forgot to check newegg where they have it listed for $45 and $10 3-day shipping, but waiting is no biggie)
What do you guys think?
