They can cause finger pointing bullshit in the endgame.

"We didn't drop Garr because *insert priest name here* didn't heal enough or *insert rogue name here* DPSed too much.

Great if you want to know your own DPS, though.

damager meters tore apart my first guild a year ago. Priest were all over each other about healing. rogues where pounding their chest about who was on top dps. I didnt know any better then but our "rogue class officer" was telling the rogues to do the wrong things so he could keep top dps.

eventually the "a team" formed a new guild of what they called "dedicated people" My good friend was a shaman and he got in their guild and in 7 months the same exact thing happen.

IF DM tears apart your guild then it wasn't very strong to begin with.

DMM or SWStats definately helps show you who may or may not be doing their job, but it's a sore way to base someone's entire performance. This is the problem with all the meter whores that can't see anything beyond who is #1 on the list.

That being said, it's an excellent way to test new builds, equip, etc. I too, pre-BC/weaponskill change was a meter whore when I was fury... being #1 was always fun :sunny:

Wanted to get DM, but encursegaming only sends me corrupted zips. I've downloaded the same programs at other sites and they've worked just fine but I can't find a working DM link

SWStats is what i use. Upgrade from DMM IMO

/swstats reset (If you're the raid leader/assistant)

/swstats nuke (but will re-sync with all the old data, this really only works if you're not syncing, or if you're the only one running it)

damage meters tore my guild apart a year and a half ago, ago on a very low pop shit hole server. it was my first character and we were struggling to finish mc while some guilds were starting AQ 40. i posted a long rant a while ago about a few women in my guild.. damage meters weren't the only problem.. more less the nail in the coffin.


if you would do a little research you would learn that damage meters were good but were outdated once programs like sw stats were released.

Well, Ztir is right, DM can show almost everything SW can if you have it setup right.

That doesn't change the fact that SW is far more attractive and easier to use.

I used to run both because it all comes down to how many are in the sync group.

sw is nice.

i use recap atm. now that i dont haev 40 man raids (data crunch used to cause lag), recap's in-depth stats are just too sweet to ignore.

i've always used damage meters for raids and recap for myself

sw stats is more complicated and i've always gone by the saying, if it's not broke, don't fix it

I just set my combat log distance to 250 yards and snag all the data with recap. Like someone said, it's too in depth to ignore.
