druid or shaman

Which one worth playing right now?

going to level one of them up. I am leaning more toward feral druid.. I am not sure though and would like some thoughts.

not a main. just an alt to have fun when i am not on my raid speced mage, run 5 mans and to wtf pwn.

i guess shams would need better gear then a druid would in order to do better. although shams get a lot more choices in what they wear.

leveling my mage to 70 and seeing all of the new leather gear in the game made me wish my first druid wasn't horde. so i guess that would be great for a feral druid.


i took a fast look at the wow forums. tons of shams were crying about pvp i didnt read any major things in the druid forums. i have learned to not take the wow forums for anything other then a laugh. so i am stumped and not sure what to take.

Feral Druid. Period. Shelved my 60 Shaman to start over with a Druid because Druids rock and Shaman (IMO, anyway) suck.

Druids are pretty damn powerful right now.

both are easy to kill with my hunter so doesnt matter.

they're both incredibly different classes, and druids are somewhat of the flavor of the month right now

shaman: a REAL hybrid. Shamans can be a lot of fun if you understand the class (few do) and can name off all of your abilities without thinking about it. Most people never use half of their totems and thus don't really understand how they can save almost every situation. I had a lot of fun with them back in the day kiting 1-2 elites, keeping an add off for a short period with stoneclaw totem, while finishing off the others via aoe fire totems and what have you.

They have the advantage of never getting pigeon holed into one tree choice due to having a great selection of base abilities. Also have a huge amount of different playstyles in pvp.

druid: Probably the *most* difficult class to play overall. Gets completely pigeon holed into whichever tree you choose (melee dps/tanking, healing, mage) and have large disadvantages fulfilling the other positions. On the other hand, the druid heals completely unlike any of the other classes due to tree mode and a large selection of HoTs. Gearing at a medium-high level (no greens) is a serious pain in the ass for any build, but good gear in any of the forms makes you feel pretty overpowered. Overall has more flexibility then the shaman but ends up being much less of a hybrid and moreso sticks to a single role/build.

Not really sure what else to say other then that people heavily underrate the shaman class as a whole. I've played both for considerable amounts of time, but neither to 70.

Not even a question, go Druid. I have both, shaman got left behind a few patches ago. Druids are just as fun as ever, and are now very powerful.

But i say druid. Once you start getting the 60+ feral gear (if you choose feral obviously) you'll notice grinding to be so much easier and your dps sky rockets since you finally have gear made for your class and your spec. Took blizzard long enough.
