What did you decide and why?

I cant decide

i didn't do shit for research on alch; whats this about having to decide? does it turn into something like blacksmithing and u have to choose a specific path?

im herb/alch and have been gathering like a mofo and sending everything to my mule. i was going to wait till i hit 70 to focus on lvling my alch (and its taking me for fucking ever, sigh). im only at like 320 or so.

k, just read a little about the specialization split within alchemy. i think i might go xmute for $ making and making much needed mats.

transmute will probably make you more money now, elixir/potion will make you more money later.

yea, i guess they'll eventually all make $. for the 25 mans the resist pots will sell big time.

whats the diff between pots and elixers? pots = health/mana, elixers = stat boosts?

im tauren herb/alchemist i do elixers and it seems to work well.

Elixirs works on flasks. 'Nuff said.

Unfortunately I chose Transmutation before I knew about this. Oh well, it will help fund my epic flying mount.

I'm definitely not planning on doing a transmute every day eventually though.

where are the major alch npcs in the outlands? i quickly googled and couldn't find a 60-70 alch guide.

Transmuting the skyfire (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=54722) diamonds could be good money. So could Primal Might (if your economy isnt retarded, such as malganis).

guild mate went elixir, has already gotten a double flask from it, so yes, confirmed.

Ooo I totally missed this. Hadn't used my Alchemist rogue in a long time and getting all the transmutes was getting costly.

I'm one of 2 guild alchemists that make most raid potions (many supply their own) and am going potion master. Chance of getting extra pots is great. The other guild alc went elixir master and we'll divvy up shit so the guild gets as much bang for our buck as we can.

Alot of other guildmates (most of them) went transmute master but I feel that'll be great now but not as great down the road. The guildmate who had a 4x Primal Might xmute with his own mats one night last week definitely likes it for now :P

Seems a couple of my guildies have gone transmute. I was planning on transmutes, but maybe elixirs would be better.

I think there will be a ton of transmutes because in the past that made a ton of money. With easy to reach alch labs, elixirs would be a neat way to go. You might actually be able to market them on the AH now instead of just saving them for guild use. Flask of Mighty Restoration is bad ass.

Side note - is the alchemist's trinket the +15 all stats, or the nerfed version? Thottbot is not clear.

wowhead says +15 to all stats. I rarely use thottbot anymore. the comments suck so much. too many LOL HUNTARD ITEM and not enough helpful info. plus it's slow to update.

As far as i can tell, there are 3-4 transmutes at this point even worth mentioning.

- Primal Might (75-110g)
- Water to Air (maybe 10-20 difference)
- Skyfire Diamond (150g cost with little profit)
- Earthstorm Diamond (100g cost with little profit)

What are the prices for you guys?

If the diamonds were 2-3 times the value down the road, then i'd see going this route and just doing regular transmutes of Might and diamonds.

I cannot tell if these are good gems and will remain popular. Thoughts?

If those are likely to remain stable demand, then i'd expect prices on these to dramatically increase from 100-150 to perhaps twice that. If the mats are reasonable and the profit margin is good, i could see doing this long-term.

I'll probably go Elixirs. Consummables seem to create a more consistent revenue stream.

I chose elixir mastery, because I've found that my friends and I have been chugging these things left and right since we've started heroic dungeons.

I've been very pleased with the elixir mastery proc, seems to be around 10% for me, but about 15 minutes ago i was making some elixirs of healing, the ones that give +50 healing for an hour, and 2 vials, 2 dreaming glory, and 2 golden sansam yielded 8 healing pots, which I thought was nuts.

One proc made an entire stack, the second made 3. I didn't know this could happen, but it was pretty sweet, and I'm certainly not complaining. Don't know if this happens with either of the other mastery's or if this was a fluke, but I'm definitely enjoying elixir mastery, as it has already payed back dividends.
