I haven't seen any mage talent threads since BC. Anyone have any recommendations? Right now I'm just a generic ice mage.

WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Mage -> Talent Calculator (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?200000000000 0000000000000000000000000 0000000025353233112350112 51051)

However I'm thinking of going with something like this

WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Mage -> Talent Calculator (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?203205021023 0100000000050523001230203 1050125000000000000000000 00000)

mage tanking spec. use wand for the uber dps. blink if the mob gets too near you and kite it around while your raid kills it.

When I was levelling my mage (some months ago) most other mages said Imp A.M. was simply a waste of points. Seems like decent damage but it eats more mana than other damage spells. Personally never toyed around in Arcane, mage is 36 and went all Fire and was pretty pleased with the damage it did with fire spells. When the free respec rolled around I went Ice and there are some crits and high damage it just didn't feel like it added up to Fire.

That's all I've got, but I should get back into Mage again. I found it easy to play in groups and surprisingly people called me fairly competent at keeping mobs sheep'd during dungeon runs.

Oh and thanks to be being here, there'll be at least 5 - 6 flames inbound. It may get you enough notice for an actual lvl 60 - 70 mage to come along and fill you in properly.

after 60 im sure heavy fire/arcane is a good choice. I'm only 50 but pure fire with my focus on clear casting next.

I'm no mage expert, but I would suggest fire/ice instead. You can get elemental precision, shatter, iceblock, cold snap and improved frost nova along with your 40 pts in fire.

If you really want fire with POM, then maybe:

For pve dps it's hard to beat 10/48/3:

me likey. But as long as I'm spending 10 pts in arcane. I would spend 11 for that 50% of intellect = armor talent
