Blackfade 01-01-2007, 07:30 PM In this thread I'll mostly just post daily results and amount of hands played. Sometimes I'll post a hand I want input on, I'll try to post good ones. It might be very boring, and might just end up with 365 posts at the end of year all posted by me since this forum is almost dead - but I think it will help motivate me to stick with it and maybe accomplish my goals. It will also probably be nice to go back and read.
Main Goals
* 3000 hands each day - obviously some days this will not be possible for those days I will try to make it up the day before and/or the day(s) after. This will mostly be done in one 5 hour session playing 8 6 handed tables.
* 2.5ptBB/100 - sort of low I know, but going by past results this is what I can expect. I might do a bit better or I might do a lot worse.
Other Goals
* Less Autopilot, concentrante for entire session. (I'm playing as I'm writing this and not concentrating at all)
* Practice better game selection at all limits
* Less post-flop "moves"
* Sit out/change Table if you end up headsup vs a non-donk.
* "Better" PT stats. Something like 20.5+% Vpip, 16%+ Pfr, 30%+ Steal, 52%+ Won at showdown.
* No sportsbetting (unless you start with very small amounts and build off that)
* No tournaments (unless you make a serious commitment to learn how to play tournaments and time spent playing tournaments should not influence time spent playing cash games)
My main limit now is $2-5, but I do take occasional shots at $5-10 & $10-20 If I see bad players. I dont really have a goal of moving up beyond $2-5 for my main game, but I might who knows. Also if I start to run bad/play bad I might drop to £1-2. (all NL) wish me luck!
Blackfade 01-01-2007, 07:34 PM Day 1:
Hands: 4,379
Balance: -$4,170
Total Hands: 4,379
Total Balance: -$4,170
what a great start to the new year
I might edit these posts since I'll probably post them after the main sessions but I often play more hands later in the evening/night
cacophobia 01-02-2007, 04:55 AM gl. drop by irc sometime if you're getting bored. i know it sucks to talk and play at the same time but it can help ease the drag.
Blackfade 01-02-2007, 08:31 PM Day 2:
Hands: 3,781
Balance: +$3,315
Total Hands: 8,160
Total Balance: -$855
Played very basic, pretty tight and just 6 tables today since I played like a total moron yesterday. Felt like I was playing a lot better. Doesnt hurt to have 100% win with AA either. 31 in a row.
Blackfade 01-03-2007, 07:10 PM Day 3:
Hands: 3,041
Balance: +$2,315
Total Hands: 11,201
Total Balance: +$1,342 (+$2052 w/rakeback)
I lost for the most part today. My ptbb/100 is like 0.73 at $2-5 which sucks.
However the day was saved when my favourite player sat down at $10-20 and I got in before the waiting list filled up. I finally caught some hands against him and he left with one stack less after 13 hands. All the other players sat out/left the table when he didnt rebuy. He sat down at $25-50 a bit later and I tried to get on the table but when I finally got a seat it was he who had left. Just as well I suppose, I really dont play those stakes well since I get very nervous/scared.
My AA win streak ended at 40. (23 of those won me less then 5 bigblinds) average win of about 10 bigblinds.
Adroit 01-04-2007, 02:49 PM Good to see you bounced back from your first day...GL sir.
Blackfade 01-04-2007, 06:53 PM Day 4:
Hands: 4,372
Balance: +$600
Total Hands: 15,573
Total Balance: +$1942
Total Rakeback: $900 (estimate)
my PT database semi-crashed and I had to do a repair, so some hands are missing. -$1500 is just an estimate of what I lost, should not be too far off.
Lost alot at £5-10, but won at $2-5 & $ $5-10. The £5-10 game was really deep at one point, I had 5 buyins(rebought twice), one guy had 7 buyins another had 3 and the last one had 2. Playing deep in a game above my normal limit was not good. Made a crap call for £1000 and a tried to bluff a guy that never folds for £1100 etc. Total lost close to $4,500. I'll lay off those games unless 1 of 2 specific players are playing in them. Although today went fine on the $2-5 tables, playing one table that is so much higher then the rest kind of puts me into automode on the lower tables.
I decided to erase the part about my ptbb since I just almost doubled it in one session, obviously way too few hands to care about that stat yet.
win stats from today is not exact, will be updated once the site sends me the missing handhistories
Blackfade 01-04-2007, 06:56 PM Good to see you bounced back from your first day...GL sir.
Thanks, looks like I'm my way back down again now though
Blackfade 01-06-2007, 11:57 AM Day 5:
Hands: 224
Balance: -$201
Total Hands: 15,797
Total Balance: +$1741
Total Rakeback: $900 (estimate)
Blackfade 01-06-2007, 08:48 PM Day 6:
Hands: 620
Balance: +$1265
Total Hands: 16,417
Total Balance: +$3005
Total Rakeback: $1000 (estimate)
I'll try to get in something like 5k hands tomorrow.
creat!ve 01-07-2007, 01:15 PM im semi interested in this but if i continue to read id like some hands posted to discuss and more info on your sessions, i dont want to read half ass shit :P
despite what you think, theres a few people here who will definatly read/respond (who are adequate players) to hand history questions etc
how many tables do you play and for how long? 4.5k in a day just sounds crazy to me
Blackfade 01-07-2007, 09:35 PM Day 7:
Hands: 2815
Balance: -$2,439
Total Hands: 19232
Total Balance: +$561
Total Hours Played: 47.82
Total Rakeback: $1,150 (estimate)
I lost alot today but I think I played as good as I can. Started out at £2-5 and lost close to $3500 in 256 hands. 3 big hands where I got the money in with the best 2 times and 1 very stupid semi bluff vs a "unknown." However today wasnt a total waste - I manged to 'improve' my pfr, vpip and steal % a lot. 20.85 VPIP, 27.95 Steal, 16.59 PFR. Hopefully I can keep this up.

I started out at 8 tables but I've stepped down to 6 now as I'm trying to raise my vpip/pfr which takes a bit of effort. I try to play one long session per day, something like 5-6 hours. I think during a session like that my hand average is 500/Hour. You really lose a lot of hands if you play several shorter sessions instead.
Also keep in mind that this is 6 handed tables which play more hands then 10/9 handed tables.
Blackfade 01-09-2007, 01:33 PM Day 8:
Hands: 4747
Balance: -$989
Total Hands: 23,979
Total Balance: -$428
Total Hours Played: 58.17
Total Rakeback: $1,300 (estimate)
losing (if you dont count rakeback) over 24k hands is just horrible, I think its mainly due to bad play/luck on the NL£5 & NL£10 tables. I'm up $6,540 at $2-5 over 20,921 hands. The losses are basically -$4231 at NL£5 over 388 hands, and -$4600 at NL£10 over 398 hands. And I lucked out at NL$10 with +$2400 over 1366 hands. I'm not really worried since I've got a good profit over 21k hands on $2-5.
I'll stop updating every day and instead do weekly updates.
braski 01-09-2007, 01:44 PM move down to 1/2 with those numbers. you should be winning 80% of the time at your limit.
or maybe you have too much pride to move down as evidenced by your stabs at 5/10 when your are losing at 2/5

Are you misreading my post or something? I'm winning at $2-5. 3.13 ptBB over the last 21k hands. If I include the last 3 months of $2-5 as well its still exactly 3.13. Thats 74,521 hands of winning. (And honestly I think 3.13 is great, for me anyway.) The losses are from taking shots at higher limits, which are really not fueled by my pride/ego whatever. There are players known for handing out cash on these limits, If I see one I try to get a seat. I dont sit down with the regulars that I know are better then me. I only sit when theres a HUGE fish in those games and I try to stay out of the way from the rest.
And your comment about winning 80% of the time makes no sense to me, why would I drop down and take a loss in profit because of some stat that doesnt matter? (does it?) Are you suggesting that a winning player wins 80 out of 100 days? or 80 out of 100 sessions? either seems way too high, I doubt I'l ever be able to get numbers like that.
cacophobia 01-09-2007, 05:15 PM 80% is the amount of cards that should make you win the hand out of 50% left, (not to mention a $20 overlay in implied odds)
Blackfade 01-09-2007, 11:01 PM obviously
holy fuck you played 11 hours on day 8/
i guess i was doin days like that way back when, seems sick now though
