Torrent/router/modem problem?

I have a WGT624v3 router, some old ass ambit cable modem from my cable company, and an asus A8N SLI Deluxe mobo. I'm a complete noob when it comes to tech stuff like this, so it may be something very obvious that I'm doing.

When I try and dl torrents, I get a max of 32kbs down, and that trickles down to about 17kbs a second in azerus, but in other clients it will go right to 0 down and 0 up. In azerus my dl and ul always stay the same.

I have a couple of ports forwarded on the router (udp 85 and 6111-6999). Other than that, everything is set at it's default settings. Window's firewall is unchecked, I don't run any software firewall either.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

dslreports.com speed test 2006-11-12 11:27:01 EST:
2755 / 235 (Kbps)
(336.4 / 28.6 KB/sec)
Compared to the average of 1161 tests from charter.com:
* download is 23% worse, upload is 50% worse

Anyone have any ideas?

i would suggest not running on the default ports, chang it and just forward the port in your router.

Tried that, no help. Upgraded the router's firmware to the newest beta version and the speed is the same, except now it is giving me a firewall warning. There is no firewall that I know of.
