by normal standards I guess this isnt running good, but 3.58 BB/100 is a significant improvement for me, since I've usually been struggling to be over 1.5BB/100

ParoxysM 11-10-2006, 02:52 PM What proggie do you use to track...and is it free?
I havent used a tracker in over a year and would like to see the difference today
Poker Tracker (or Poker Office)
not free.
ParoxysM 11-11-2006, 10:32 AM I play hold 'em and ohama...it looks like I have to use 2 seperate poker tracker programs?!?!
RockeT 11-11-2006, 11:50 AM If you want to track both, that would be correct.
I'll sell you a key for PokerOffice for cheap. I don't use it anymore.
Maybe you already mentioned it and I missed it, but what kinds of games are you playing, and for what stakes?

You can be! It's just like anything else... If you work hard at it and study, you will improve.
it only took me 10 years of my life to be able to type 100wpm
guess ill start on poker now!
;)
also, how do you 'study' for poker? i dont understand the concept, is playing for $$$ like blackfade all based upon odds and a 'system' ?
RockeT 11-15-2006, 10:16 AM Not a system, to speak of, but there are a LOT of concepts and proven standards that will make you money. Learning the concepts so you can think critically in most every situation you're in is very important.
You can study by buying books written by professionals who have made money playing poker for years and years. Read them, play; repeat. After you've read it all the way through, play for a few weeks, reviewing the text as you need to. After a few weeks, read the book again.
You can also participate in discussion on the 2+2 Forums. If you have genuine issues with your game that you need help figuring out and you post requesting help within their guidelines, there are many players who will help as best they can.
If you put the time and the work in it will make a difference.
I suggest the following books to start off with:
Getting Started in Holdem
Theory of Poker
If you want to play limit hold'em:
Small Stakes Hold'em
If you want to play no limit:
Little green book
Harrington on Hold'em volume 1
No Limit Holdem, Theory and Practice
