been reading this thread for a while. Just wanted to say thank you for the best games I've ever played and I wish there was more. I've never found anything that I enjoyed more than T1 and T2 classic.

Also, what does a guy gotta do to get a Tribes Ski Team shirt?

Best game shirt ever made. Period. Please find a way to make more :(

As per usual i don't read threads created by reggs, but now i'm really sorry i havn't clicked this one earlier. :disgust:

I still remember the first day i saw Tribes, i was at a friends house and he was showing me different games he had on his pc. Played some games and finally he showed me Tribes, i spend half an hour trying to get into a base. But since that very moment im hooked on the idea behind this game. I can't believe so many years have passed since.

To this day i don't enjoy playing FPS games but they lack a certain joy and dimension that Tribes provided...

This thread was a 2 hours trip down memory lane, reading every comment, looking back on every part of the franchise, and even looking for my T1 and T2 cd's [found 'em!].

Thnx...

Great thread. Spent the last 45 minutes reading 40 some pages of whatever.

Nothing but love to all of Dynamix / Garage Games. You guys created the best team based game the world has ever (or will ever?) seen.

Those of us that have been fans since day one will never forget.

Yeah. Fucking same here, I saw this thread when it was first posted, read the first few replies and then forgot about it. After seeing that it reaqched 40+ freaking pages I figured there was some major drama goin on and decided to go through it. WOW.

In any case, T1 was the first game I ever played on a computer. I remember being so psyched about getting a PC, I went out with my brother and picked it up along with some zombie game that I dont even remeber the name of anymore. Once the PC was actually delivered, I realized that we kinda needed an internet connection to play it. So we ended up getting 56k service from our local provider, and the wonderful world of the internet entered my life.

Tribes blew me away to say the least. Not only did I love the game, but I had my first experience with online gaming and was enamored with it. I was in over my head since I wasn't just a newbie to Tribes, but a newbie to computers and the internet as well.

It's kind of a curse though. It's like losing your virginity to the best looking girl in town and never finding another girl that meets those standards.

I read an article about Tribes in Newsweek when I was in 8th grade, I believe, and they were hailing that it was such a massive online FPS and that you had freedom of movement, could jet around, and use vehicles. For some reason, it intrigued me, and I looked to see if they had it at the local Best Buy. I found it, told my dad about it and how much fun it sounded like, and I got it that day.

I started playing that night and fell immediately in love with the game. What really kept me going with the game was the community involved with it. The learning curve and the unique aspects of the game attracted a great group of players. Neglecting my homework to listen to shoutcasts and watch demos is one of my favorite memories.

Nice run down memory lane.

I started because a friend wanted somebody to play T1 with, I had no damn idea what the game was about. When I first started, patches were being released weekly it seemed like. I would join any server that had people on it, took me awhile to figure out that there were different server types. No wonder some servers had a million weapons and others didn't. That's how I found the Insomniax Mod and just stayed playing that until T2 came out. I loved the dual chainguns, good shiznits right there.

One of the reasons I liked T2 (http://warchilde.home.bresnan.ne t/WC_T2) Thank You Tribes Makers!!

One thing I miss about the tribes games were the scripts, I was a script whore, always trying things out, and breaking stuff. Thank you Presto!!

I don't think Terraforce ever made the Ski Team shirts. But I could be wrong. As I remember it, these shirts were only made back when Marweas was still at Sierra.

I have not found any other games like T1/T2. Its just amazes me theres no other games like this. Hopefully games will actually catch on to teamwork and such and not just be a random gun fighting battle. Had MANY pleasant memories playing T2. All those crazy ass MA's and yelling at the moniter, still gotta love it.

Was anywhere in this thread linked that T1 video showing just about every possible aspect of what made T1 grand?

I wish I could remember the name of it, and it came just a cpl years ago, but it was fucking epic.

Epic.

Nothing grasped what made T1 the greatest game ever, and to this day, I still search for a high that breathtaking.
