Need Computer Hepl!

When I first tried booting it today. I got the one-long beep. I looked it up and it turns out to be a memory error. After swapping one memory stick in and out, one of my dual channel memory sticks have died.

So I tried running it with just one stick. I got it to post, but when it tries to load Widndows, it locks up on the loading screen. Then when I try it in safemode it gets stuck on DontGo.sys.

I tried running the memory test (on that one stick) for a pass and didn't get any errors.

I tried the advice at: http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t7306.html

But I don't think Windows can load with one stick of dual-channel memory. I have a MSI Neo4/Platinum mobo with Corsair XMS TWINX1024-3200C2PT RAM.

Do you think just changing the memory will help?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's no such thing as dual channel memory. There are only dual-channel compatible motherboards.

At any rate, have you tried resetting your BIOS?

Big thanks. I reset the bios and it worked like a charm.

Much appreciated.
