This is weird, I just reinstalled XP and started installing MB drivers off of the original driver CD that came with it. After the driver installation finished it asked for a reboot and once the xp login was back up I couldn't type anything or move the mouse. So I reboot thinking the system locked up and that got both of them to work again. Once I installed DirectX that also rebooted the machine and again the KB/mouse are non-responsive. After another reboot they're back to normal.
Tested it to see if a manual reboot (non-driver install automated reboot) would cause the same problem and it did. So... KB/mouse die every other reboot. Any ideas what's going on? Everything software side is newly reinstalled.
**EDIT:
Thanks to those in #tech. Seems my coworker flipped my connectors on my kvm switch when I wasn't there. Bastard. Ideas on getting back at him are still appreciated though. :D
