Did I make a mistake creating a Druid?

Druids are not terrible. Are there better classes for each of their forms? Yes.

Can any other class do as much? No.

They are a hybrid. Depending on spec, they can make themselves better at that aspect of their class.

A good druid is a welcome addition to our raids. We take OOMkin's, ferals, and restos. Had a feral offtank a bad pull in brd last night - she did awesome. I like them for their versatility.

Sucks that you are tired of the class Daemon - try rerolling an alt - no sense in playing a class you no longer enjoy.

I am taking a break right now. When I decide to get back into it seriously, I will probably make my 60 priest my main.

cool man - hope you like it.

Try warlock if you want a little break from the druid routine - we're a bit of a hybrid class ourselves.

I think I'll try hunter, then perhaps move over to a mage or something.
no, be a rogue... its the best intro class, and funnest all around. i have a 60 druid, a 29 twink druid, and a 60 warlock. i DO NOT recommend either for beginners.

The bottom-line, since it is a game after all, is to find the faction/race/class combination you like playing the most. Personally I can't decide if I like my Tauren Fury Warrior, Night Elf Rogue or Dwarf Holy Priest the most so I play each one until I feel like playing one of the other ones ...

Well I continued on with my druid because.....well I didn't feel like starting over so quickly. I'm about to go see the druid trainer in Darnassus.

You're level 10... that's like... 2 hours.

Just restart if you don't like it.

I just saw that I can start a profession. What is a good profession to start if I'm a druid? Does it even matter which one I pick, or are there better ones suited for each class??

Trust me, it took me a while to get to level 10. I play an hour at a time, and I'm slow as hell.

It's not 2 or 3 hours for most folks who are just starting the game. But the point is valid, that at level 10 you've not yet made a significant time investment in your character as compared with what it will take to get it to 60.

I see your point Shoddy. I like the druid for now so I'll continue using him.

Unless you have purchased or been given gold, you should pick 2 of (herbalism, mining, skinning).

Most of your time has probably been spent figuring out what/where/who/how/why. After you have been playing for a while, you'll be able to blow through those first few levels on a new character quite quickly since you know all that stuff.

if you plan to do any sort of PvP, get engineering

don't pick mining AND herbalism, unless you enjoy rapidly switching between the two or have sharp eyesight to see the tiny herbs as you're wandering around looking to mine stuff

of the two, herbalism is way easier to skill up than mining

Like people have said... if you want to get quick gold, pick up skinning AND either herbalism or mining. Also engineering would be a good choice too since it's the most useful. I would discourage getting tailoring/leatherworking/blacksmithing/etc since you can always buy the products--there're way too many of those as it is and mats are so expensive that i doubt you can make a considerable profit selling crafted items. Enchanting would be all right only if you picked it up for the sole purpose of disenchanting items for dust.

Since this is your first char, i'd suggest going skinning and herbalism so you can sell the mats at the auction house for the much needed extra income. Once you've reached 60 and established yourself with decent savings, you can always retrain your professions. And if you make a second char, you could set him up with mining and engineering for utility and take money from your main if it needs it since your main should have a decent stock of gold from the gathering profs

i'm a warlock, so i don't know if this is a fair statement, but druids are godawful at one vs one pvp. i've never fought a druid that took me below around 75% health and 50% mana.

that said, i think a druid would still be fun to play. i'm debating rolling one.
