Blood Elf classes:
Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warlock
Draenei classes:
Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Priest, Shaman, Mage
Pretty fucked up. If I recall back when there was a discussion about Gnome warriors, Blizzard just flat out said "Every race can be warrior, which is the reason a Gnome can be one :)" Appearantly they've swayed from that view, now.
Basically, we wanted to make sure that both new races had an equal number of class availability options. As a result, we had to cut one class from the Blood Elf's selection pool. It came down to eliminating either the Hunter or the Warrior, and after a great deal of discussion we decided that the Hunter was the better fit for this race.
Think Ranger. ;)

First they kill the uniqueness of each faction, and now take out one of the more popular classes from a new race, yet the others have it. Draenei are already so much cooler and unique looking, this just gives people another reason to play them.

Not that rage is a huge issue with high level gear, but being able to get like 60 free rage to start a fight could be really unfair, as could ragedumping with MS or bloodthirst and then popping it for a massive execute.
As was already posted above, it'd be massive caster rape. Probably for the best they aren't warriors as well.

The thing is, the silence can't be just popped off whenever. It has to be set up kinda like a rogue combo finisher. And it's 8 yards, so it's more like warstomp with a weak setup.
I really didn't think it sounded too overpowered.
The real issue, which is obvious if you look at the class choices as a whole, is that bliz is trying to get more people playing horde. They gave them the prety race, then they made it so it can be all of the most popular classes ( pally, hunter, rogue, lock ). It was a business decision, just like the pally-shaman thing in the first place.

Granted I have zero desire to play a BE. Guess I'll get to kill clones of myself now. (I have a NE Hunter)

Ratorasniki 08-01-2006, 11:05 PM It may have a rogue combo point feel to it but if you honestly think that every single blood elf isn't going to be spamming their mana drain every time it's up and charging up for a big AE silence & massive mana/energy boost as frequently as they can, you're insane. Every single time you're within range of a blood elf you're going to get mana burned, it's that simple. About half the time you're going to get silenced.
It's overpowered as hell, especially when held up against the piddly ass heal on a long cooldown. It was really about time alliance got a stupidly overpowered racial. Something really retarded like they're so in tune with the light they're outright immune to shadow spells.
