Is Blizzard super strict about transfer policies and account tracking?
If I use a different name/card than was originally on an account to transfer a character, think Blizzard will flag the account and go after it?
They seem really slack in some areas and nazi bitchfaces in others... what's the deal with their account management?

oh wait are you transfering a character from one account to another, or just moving from 1 server to another with a seperate account you own w/ payment info that doesn't match up?
not sure you can even transfer from say, your 2nd account to your main one, if the info on both doesn't match up to begin with

Are you sure about that? Because I remember changing email addresses some months ago when I moved because the old one wasn't being used anymore.

yeah there's no way to change your email on the account page
a GM told me i'd have to call blizzard and have them change it over the phone, and in an e-mail reply a few weeks ago they told me the same thing

Hmm... could have sworn I did some months ago. Or maybe that was billing info. Well I better write the email address I use down and keep it active if it'll be that much of a hassle in case I lose it.

Yeah my old e-mail address was killed off when I switched from cable to DSL and I had to wait on fucking hold for over an hour just to tell them my new e-mail address. When talking to them they asked every damn question you could imagine regarding my address, phone number (? i think), special question, name, account name, etc... I couldn't believe how fucking much they jerk you around because of an e-mail change. But changing payment methods takes 30 seconds on their website. :boggle:

My guess is they suspect you are trying to "take back" an account you sold to someone else, a tactic I would suspect is not too uncommon given Blizzard's policy on account ownership. And they are simply covering their asses in case someone comes in complaining their account was stolen or some such.
That's also why I use web-based emails for that kind of stuff, if I move or change ISPs I don't have to worry about stuff like this. Most say they are les secure but I made my account on launch using a web-based address and I never had a problem. Hardware firewall, secured MAC address wireless access only, and I don't have any of the apps many claim are the source of data theft like Limewire.
