PvP Grind

Aids, just aids.
Me and my brother have been doing it for quite some time, legitimately and so forth. We've had account sharers get it, the server is quite against it, we've stopped them getting guilds, they've been banned etc. But the weeks they last still screw you over.

Rewind about two months.
My brother: 70%~ rank 13.
Me: 12% Rank 13.

So I am forced to take a fun 3 week holiday (yay, holiday. boo, degradation)
My brother, only 9 days.

Fast forward to end of holiday.
My brother now sitting at about 10% of rank 13.
Me: 1% of rank 12.

Triple fast forward to today, and we've been doing the regular pvp, me not so hard, now hitting about 90% of rank 12 again. Here's the fun thing, two weeks ago he was 74%, he gets standing 2 and skips all the way forward to the stunning mark of 91% [/sarcasm]. This week? An account sharer takes standing 3, he gets put into 4. Ooh, ooh, what does he get to? 98%.
I'd like to take this emo point in time to say, fuck account sharers. So now he has to get another standing 3 to get the last 2%, hurrah! We thought he'd be done by now.


And Blizzard is fixing this next patch so people don't get fucked over by it, luckily people haven't been facing this shit for 18 odd months, they've slowly made it easier. Hip hip, hurrah for Blizzard.

It's already even easier than it used to be. Just be glad they actually realize it's stupid.

I was contemplating doing it, despite the time needed. I mean on Deathwing Alliance we have one warlock who supposedly ground BGs at lvl 19 until she got to GM, then bought all the lvl 60 gear for everything and the mount. Then played regular to 60. Apparently as soon as she hit 60 she grabbed all the gear out of the bank and went on a full-week ganking spree in STV.

I wouldn't think it that difficult to find games if they are on holiday. Basically that's the only time they become active. The only real hurdle I'd think is to be lucky enough to get into winning PUGs and trying to beat back the twinked out alts with all BoE blues and enchants on everything.

"Twinks" are such only because it is fun to beat up on someone without the gear. Now, and here's the funny part, "twinking" is so prevalent on the active realms that you *have* to twink to stay on par with everyone else so it becomes a moot point.

That was the rumor going around when I signed onto Deathwing. Whether it was true or not I didn't know, but that bitch did make it a part-time job of just running around the quest areas in STV killing 30 - 40 somethings in the northern areas. At times killing 3v1 or 4v1.

As for if it's true or not, I really don't care and like hell I'll believe anything you say. If you want to prove me wrong you'll have to go through the work to produce some kind of official evidence proving or disproving your claim in a clear and concise manner (most likely something like a page on the Blizzard website.)

As for Deathwing affiliation, it is my official Horde PvP home. And I'm pretty certain you wouldn't be stupid enough and lazy enough to transfer one of your main Horde characters over to one of my Alliance realms or even one in their battlegroup specifically to beat me down.

Question: Can you "store" honor? In other words, earn enough for Rank 6 at sub level 41 and when you hit 41, and a Tuesday rolls by, you jump to Knight or Stone Guard?

I've not PvP'd enough to know if this works or not; just curious to know if the twinks in the level 19 BGs are COMPLETELY wasting their time or not.

Ugh, its probably capped on RP, so yea, but: its real tough to make it past rank 3-5 in the lower levels. you have many disadvantages (no access to AB and AV being the largest)

on a AB/AV weekend a low level player would have to grind WSG a ton to have a chance at not rotting a level.

Once you reach the cap, you get squat.

The only exception to this is if you level during a week, then the CP you earned that week (and only that week) will contribute to your RP up to the new cap you have reached.

It's a real pain in the ass, and I imagine anyone who has actually gotten that rank without the help of a roomate/sibling or someone who lives near them pretty much has no life.

I have had a tough time ranking and I don't even go out that much. On my server three people have gotten 3 day suspensions for account sharing in getting to HWL. One got GM anyway, the two others are close. Seems they're trying to keep a lid on it, but the rating system is so stupid I kind of think the guys that are sharing are just doing what anyone would do to still have a life and get rank. If you aren't cheating you aren't trying I guess.

In my opinions the only stupid ass part of the system is that you get competition from EVERYONE on the server, so some random rank 9 with too much time on his hands for two weeks can keep you from getting HWL for close to a month. The amount of decay as you get up in the ranks is kind of rediculous, but not totally stupid. And it's all about the weekends sadly.
