Lord Elessar 07-17-2006, 09:48 AM My guild, Forge, got Nef down in 3 1/2 hours last night! We got our final shard and made the scepter. Going to be opening the gates sometime next week. It was such a great fight, our raid leader was PUMPED on vent when we got to the 21% point. We held all dps and got the druid class call. Then we just smashed him because we had only lost 1 person total so far (dps warrior). Many of you are in major raiding guilds and know what it feels like to achieve something that's been in the works for months (our server just opened this past Jan.).
Anyhow on to AQ we go! I am looking forward to start raiding here as we plow through MC and BWL and this leave too much open time. We need a new instance.
I hear AQ 20 is weaksauce and is easier than ZG. Hopefully it will be a good offnight instance.
Osiris 07-17-2006, 09:59 AM Grats
And yeah, AQ20 isn't very hard (Only killed Buru, Moam, Kurinaxx and Rajaxx though)
NeverSummer 07-17-2006, 10:20 AM The only somewhat difficult encounter in aq20 is ossiran imo, but if you can clear bwl he shouldn't be a problem at all.
Skibbi9 07-17-2006, 10:22 AM AQ20 is roughly as hard as zg.
zg has 8 bosses, some are fairly tough and some are weak. with a guild that can roll through bwl now, you shouldn't have much difficulty.
They've nerfed a few aq20 fights so they're getting easier. Most of the lewt isn't that great but for sure, the books they drop for each class are.
Kurinaxx - nerf: made his sandtraps have a smaller aoe. simple fight - 3 tanks tripod him and pass aggro, dps takes him down, bandage when silenced, healers and casters spread out. enrage at 30 percent.
Rajaxx- nerf: mobs have less health rajaxx hits slightly softer. 8 waves, take down the swarmgards, named, warriors, bring one to the back on pulls 3-7 if mana is needed. if mana is needed warrior in back is judged no dps, rank 1 and wand him down. Heals on general, more rep and such with a general plus he has bs recipes, and limited pots/bandages after.
Moam - mana drain, dps, banish sons at 90 sec mark, finish moam, kill sons,
Buru - my favorite boss fight, longer strat
Ayemiss the hunter- harder fight, especially w/o a bunch of hunters.
Ossirian - good loot table, nerf: first toggle is preset, seems like other toggles are more normalized in their spawn patterns. I've always found ossirian to be tougher than hakkar

Lord Elessar 07-17-2006, 10:46 AM Thanks for the AQ 20 info. I'm one of the unofficial offnight raid leaders when we do ZG so I'll probably be running our AQ 20 raids too. We like to give our officers a break every now and then. :)
scandal 07-17-2006, 10:51 AM Aq20 is great. Eventually when your guild has enough books, you can just do kurinaxx, rajaxx, moam, and ossiran because the last two drop the best loot. The rest of the bosses loot tables are okay, but if you guys are already well geared with BWL loot, then the drops from the other bosses won't be that interesting to you.
edit: forgot about rajaxx
Watahboy 07-17-2006, 12:03 PM Get the glove enchant recipes to make phat lewt (+healing.) Ossirian is the toughest fight in aq20, but you guys should be able to handle it no problem. Just make sure you have enough priests, and another healing class. Kurinaxx is cake, Moam you gotta just make sure you keep mana draining and keep mana pots for the pally/shamans since they heal. I agree with skibbi that Buru is the most fun fight, definitely unique and it involves the whole raid.
It took my guild about 5 tries to get the ossirian fight down, and we pretty much cruised through the others, IMO Ossirian is tougher than any zg fights and on the whole its more fun than zg. Have fun!
We are now working on Nef and Skeram. We got Skeram to 30% and Nef to 64%, also the trash mobs in the entrance of aq40 are easy, on a 30 min respawn and give 200 rep each. Also don't waste points bidding on a bug mount, almost each trash will drop at least 1 summoning crystal.
scandal 07-17-2006, 12:13 PM For us, the bug mounts are free roll. Skeram is pretty easy once you have the tanking down. The stair case is kinda annoying in terms of line of sight though.
PessimiStick 07-17-2006, 12:25 PM Who actually banishes adds on Moam?
Kill him before he stoneforms, slackers!
booty 07-17-2006, 12:29 PM we were pretty pumped when we finally killed nef. We were not bleeding edge but it was still pretty early on in the grand scheme of things, especially for horde. We wasted like 3 weeks trying to figure out phase 1 and we were convinced AE had to be involved so we were sucking hard.
When we finally did phase1 correct I think we killed him that same night and it was really exciting.
Skibbi9 07-17-2006, 01:23 PM Pessi, we now kill Moam pre-spawns/sons. But it took a while til a) you learn the fight b)get aggro down c)group makeup.
If we have enough dps (hopefully 3-4 rogues) , moam goes down pre-sons with some time to spare. If we have 2-3 locks and not enough dps then its banish adds finish moam
seems to be like the rag fight. pre-sons = teh rox0r
Osiris 07-17-2006, 07:58 PM I got these from Moam

They're actually pretty badass.
Slobax 07-17-2006, 11:04 PM grats
Ender P. Wiggin 07-18-2006, 01:08 AM Moam drops one of the best OH for casters, so he's a must every time you step foot in AQ20.
For your leather wearers, Moam also drops a decent chest that can be used for NR gear.
Ossirian drops a kick ass belt.
coombz 07-18-2006, 06:47 AM grats
but AQ gets boooooring :<
its like starship troopers
kinda
Osiris 07-18-2006, 07:44 AM I periodically watch Startship Troopers, it's awesome.
Climax 07-18-2006, 08:00 AM Who in your guild is getting legendary bug mount?
Lord Elessar 07-18-2006, 08:23 AM Our warlock Noctum is getting it. He earned the right by solo farming bugs for hours on end. The first person we started repping up left the game and guild so we had to restart the entire thing. He was 1k from unfriendly :( It wasn't too bad though because 5hour Nef wasn't in the picture at that time.
FalseMyrmidon 07-18-2006, 09:02 AM Not many classes can solo farm the bugs.
PessimiStick 07-18-2006, 10:03 AM Anyone in T2/equiv gear can solo the bugs, it's just not efficient.
Warlocks and Hunters are the most efficient at it.
