It's absolutely pathetic and absolutely amusing.
A few guys from my server found my myspace awhile back - I mention my character name/realm in it and ever since them. Oh boy. I guess that's what losing 20lbs and posting a bikini picture will do. I get a minimum of 8-10 tells before my screen is even loaded in addition to the 10 "are you setting up a raid today" (I co-run PUG mc/aq20/zg/ony raids).

The worst part is I hid I was a girl SO WELL for a long time. I didn't speak in vent or anything. Then one day, on my first PUG raid (Kazzak). Someone asked a question that required a semi-long answer (and no one else knew the answer) so I answered over vent. Dead. Fucking. Silence. for about 30 seconds until someone went "who...who are you?" and I said "someone in the raid". It was eventually figured out by process of elimination and it's all gone downhill ever since.

I never had an alt until then - now I have one so I can just play in peace.

I can't lie, sometimes its nice because if I want a group for something I've got one instantly, I can get anything crafted or enchanted for mats only, and I'm never bored.

we have at least 5 women/girls in our guild as well...some are older and one even used the "mom" voice on someone the other day

This is why you're supposed to always TYPE! I'm now beggining to wonder if some people who always claim they never have a mic are really girls! ZOMG!

Anyhoo, we have about 6 girls in our combined guild (Team Fusion/Reverie combine raids on Boulderfist). Four are in Team Fusion because we're really past that whole ZOMG GIRL ON THE INTERNET phase. 1 in Reverie doesn't get much positive attention, most people dislike her. And the 6th girls is fairly new and I'm sure will get a lot of shit.

Had a female priest recruit a bit back. She was an average priest but with low playtime. Under normal circumstances a player like that would've never passed their trial but fortunately for her she posted pictures on the forums which had 80% of the guild beating off to her nightly and having idle dreams about playing WoW for 9 hours straight with her and then having a quick screw before nappy nap time. Every nerd's paradise right?

I literally had tells out of the blue from people i sometimes chatted with in-guild: "Dude....you see those pics of XXX she is fucking hawt!" "I heard she's into porn. I bet she's a freak in bed." "I've been talking to her in tells a lot and I think she likes me. She keeps flirting with me dude." How are you even supposed to respond to such comments?

Watching officer chat unfold was quite hilarious. Basically, anyone without a girlfriend wanted to keep her and were grasping at straws for why she'd be an asset to the guild. Anyone with a girlfriend was like "this wench needs to go." Had our officer in charge of the guild bank give her a Hide of the wild for free. A shaman recruit, of course male, had to pay 200g for one. Yea....go sexism. Anyways, our MT, also an officer, decides to take a trip down to Florida where she and her boyfriend live. He's from North Carolina. He was explaining in O chat his master plan of getting super plastered with her and somewhere in there(left it nice and vague) hooking up with her. Yea, he's a brilliant chap. Of course it didn't go as planned. I tried to open up betting for his chance of success but no one would take my odds much to my chagrin.

This girl's boyfriend was also an applicant to the guild. These people are so out of touch with reality I just can't fucking believe it. Do you really think someone is going to be impressed by your skills at a fucking video game enough to cheat on their boyfriend and somehow decide the oh i dunno location barrier of 10,000 fucking miles isn't that big of a deal or whatever? What the hell can they be thinking? Let's have ventrillo sex! I hear it's hotter than phone sex!

Second girl incident went a lot better for the reasons that have been hinted at in this thread. Unless you're an attention whore, altho i can't imagine why you'd want attention from 30ish males with no social lives or skills who are prolly acne ridden and obese, but hey sometimes any attention is good? Never ever give people your myspace, post pics, don't talk on vent unless you may suffer irreparable real life harm, etc. This girl character I knew from 3 weeks of camping hillsbrad, which grew old quick b/c of the utter stupidity that is DKs and guard respawn timers(but that's another rant and a long one since pvp in this game is such utter shit), played it right. She claimed she didnt have a mic, never posted pics or whatnot and treated everyone like utter shit that tried to send her tells. Instead of a hormone infested retard situation it was just another player. Still it's damn sad that in most guild's that has to be the case b/c the game is so full of immature Timmies who have never touched a girl before and have wild fantasies straight out of some new cyber soft-core porn romance novel(im not sure if these exist but i bet if someone made the move there is a market here to be cornered).

Except for the fact that I can only tell one of them apart from the rest (by voice). And this stupid new bitch who sucks at the game but got in the guild because one of the officers has an e-crush on her.

besides the girl i posted above, who, isn't really part of the main guild, just a groupie one of our main members brought on board since he's a porn king or some shit, the other girls in my guild are treated pretty much the same as everyone else, although, sometimes they're treated worse than other because they are girls ;p

just happens that way when you've got a bunch of 18-35 males in the same place, some are decent people, others are either stuck in puberty or hate the world.

I was 4th out of 60 some people in dkp, until i couldnt take her any longer. i put in an app to a new guild and took my friend. There was tons of drama but fuck them.

What can you expect, seriously? The average people who play MMOs usually are single and/or desperate. And if they are the majority then for the most part sexism will reign supreme. Some guilds are more adult, adults with families and jobs and less time for WoW and still you have other younger people who just play WoW and go to work/class. The guilds I have passed through haven't done the sexism thing yet, they seem to treat them as normal, sans the occasional joke/jab. One of them, before RL kicked in and she had to go, was popular simply because she knew her shit. Pretty much spending all her time setting up raids, setting up PvP raids, BG teams, etc. and everyone wanted to be around her because they knew she got it done.

Back before my guild reformed, there was one woman that a large portion of the guys in the guild would constantly hang off of. Myself and the Guild Leader never used Vent at the time, but finally one night we hopped on to chat.

So this woman logs on Vent, says hello, and aaaaaaaaallllllllllll the guys start fawning and drooling all over her. It was like the rest of the world suddenly stopped for them, pathetic. Guild Leader and I made fun of them for a solid half hour. Wasn't too much of an issue after that. :lol:

Nowadays I'm leading the guild, it's all pretty much equal. There's a couple guys that hang all over the women in the guild, but mostly everybody's just treated the same. My guild at the moment is actually considered one of the more diverse, mature, and friendly guilds on the server, we have a large gay/bi/lesbian population in the guild.

My girlfriend knows pretty much everything that goes on in officer-land from reading over my shoulder or just me chatting about it. I would never make her an actual officer though, that's just asking for trouble. Although there's already the ongoing joke that if I ever pass loot to her it must be because she's sleeping with me. :p:

Yeah, as Sticky said we have a handful of women in our guild. They're all more or less treated like the guys in the guild (in other words, they take as much shit as everyone else - if not more). The one Sticky posted is just a groupie friend of an officer and won't ever really play with us. We have 2 guildmates who run pornography businesses (www.silvercash.com & www.searchextreme.com as well as other sites), so it makes for fun talk at times.
