I have a rogue called Backgamon and a priest called Priceless.
They are alts, just because I fancied the names.

I'm pretty sure naming policy violations are at the bottom of the priority list for GMs. Names usually only get reported that are dealt with are ones where the name owner is being racist, huge bigot or other offensive language and behavior. Even then their stuff is so ban-worthy in and of itself the name rarely matters anymore.

GMs are probably flying about investigating item restorations and reported botters to bother with names. And yeah, you may think they don't do item restorations but every time someone fills in a ticket a GM has to go in and investigate to see if it's feasible or not.

names always get changed when other people report you

i sent in a few GM tickets from my hunters name, icanusethat, which is against the naming policy but they never made me change it

Man now THAT is classic. Just proof GMs don't always know what they are doing. But again you think of all the shit they have to deal with at their job at GM. Everything from quest help to "harassment" reports to botting/gold-farming reports to bugs, content, and general code not going right it's hard to think they'd find the time to change names for silly stuff like "Icanusethat". Unless of course the name references something offensive, then they're all on that.
