I believe I read somewhere pyroblast is losing its cooldown. Now if you have Presence of mind, what does that tell you?

Sheep->pyroblast->pom->pyroblast->fireblast-> and if you have it, BLASTwave.

That is a rediculous amount of DPS. Not complaining, but damn that would hurt.

Well, if you sheep you have that time to cast it, correct? Then you POM pyro thats 2x vicious damage, especially if critting. I dont complain, i dont have a hard time with mages, just thought it'd be pretty hardcore.

the only classes its effective against are ones you would pwn if you had the jump on with sheep anyway

Except sheep will likely break before you cast pyro :D

Truth. I think mages in general have problems against casters. This situation only gives the mage a slight advantage. With sheep on, ice mages can ice block, locks can devour the debuff, and druids can shapeshift. Priest can mitigate a lot of the dmg with Shield (and a 15 second cooldown means there is a chance of them putting up another for the second pyroblast). Pallys can divine shield.

Shamans can put a grounding totem down for the second pyroblast, but a good mage may wand the totem first before doing pom pyro. In which case, it may be enough time for the shaman to NS -> heal.

Rogues and warriors are screwed in this situation, but mages definitely have the advantage against warriors anyway, and I would even say that mages were better than rogues pre patch.

On a slight tangent, I think the mage's weakness against casters is the main reason why elementalist specs are not as cracked up as they were supposed to be post patch. At least in terms of 1v1. The loss of improved CS is a major blow. They are still pretty fun in many vs many situations though.

Pyroblast just isn't worth the talent point. Granted you can get lucky, super crits with it but when it doesn't crit, the damage is mediocore at best. You can fireoff 2 fireballs in the same amount of time as that pyroblast and do more damage easily :(

I'll stay with my heavy scortch build ;)

I die a lot with it, probably because my build is madeup by me and probably one of the worst one could ever make, but I enjoy it. It's different than the normal routine..

level 1 frostbolt needs a cooldown dangit

A few really good mages can beat any warrior or rogue without prep with it, it makes me cry
