transfer woes

I play on crushridge. the server is west cost and i am east cost. The lag is terrible for me. tuesday night in MC proves not to be a battle against the rock monsters.. its a battle against the 1200ms ping and random Dissconnets. Killing ony is the same 1000ms hell hole. All of the horde guilds are either very new or pushing/or finished with AQ40. Our guild refushes to do AQ 20 or ZG and the other night split up a 20 man grp to help some apps get keyed for mc.. two of which quit a few days later. The economy is a joke and i have spent a year on this server so i think its time for something new.

I play a rogue and my girlfriend plays a preist. She is in 6 of 8 t1 with her benidiction quest finished and i am in 6 of 8 with a brutality blade. So we have the gear to get in a decent guild with the mc experience to back it up. her and i both want to get into a good bwl guild and work threw it.

Well i dont just want to jump to another server and be in worse place then i am now.. How do you find out info on servers? This time i want to find a server where the horde are futher along in end game then the alliance. I want to be able to app to a few guilds and get my app process over with and start to get gearged/meet friends/pwn noobs. how do you go about doing this?

i made this toon a year ago. it was my first toon ever so researching very high on my to do list.. i just made it with a few friends that have left long ago.

What i was basically saying is.. how would one go about researching a server? it says to do that on the wow transfer page but i am not sure what things to look up beside's population.

I'd check out Maelstrom and Stormreaver. I've played on maelstrom since it was released and all my RL friends play on Stormreaver so I'm transferring there. There's a lot of up and comming guilds on the horde for maelstrom. Many are on rag and progressing into BWL, 3 of the 4 major horde raiding guilds have killed nef or are on him and the leading horde raiding guild is almost done with AQ40. The alliance has maybe 3 raiding guilds and they are pretty much even with the horde as far as progress except for the servers (alliance) premier raiding guild who are progressing through Naxx rather quickly.

I know most of the major horde guilds transferred off Stormreaver so I don't know much about who's there now other than the guild I'm joining.

You can read the server's forum. It's not always a great indicator of course, but if 80% of the posts are complaining about server stability or long queues or something, maybe it's not a great choice of servers.

you could create an alt and start talking to people on that server, check out the econmy ect.

Do a bit of scouting and try and find 5-10 possibly servers. Make up ctprofiles and post on the server forums saying you are looking for a guild/make an alt and say you are looking for a guild in Og. See if you get any/many positive responses.

1000 from just accross the country seems really high (unless america has really bad connections), from australia i usually get 450-550 to a westcoast server. Lower if it isnt high pop.

I know that. i just said that it was a west cost server due to the time issues. A raid that starts at 5PM to them is 8pm to us.. which is great.. Staying on with them till 3AM becasue for them its only 12 sucks ass.


Our server is just awful. its down all of the time and everyone gets "server down" messages often.. as half of the guild is still rading. We never really have lag spikes. About 10 of us will get 1000 to 1500ms pings for about 20 mins. then it just vanishes. then others will say the same thing.. When all of your healers have 1200ms its awful. in 3 months atleast 5 raids have been cancelled due to lag issues.


Oh yeah by the way If you or your guild was thinking about going to crushridge do not do it.
