After long months of waiting for the Wrath gloves to drop, I'm now 8/8 Wrath. And I'm finally realizing how worthless being the main tank of a guild is, while all the other players gather pvp gear and actually have fun in the game. I have maybe 3 or 4 pvp worthy epics, with no weapon to speak of. I am not sure whether to quit, or just reroll a horde warrior simply for pvp.

Sounds the same as the healbot dilemma. Most desired class is always priest, and you would think people would play more priests right? A lot of priests I here, the major veterans anyway, complain after a while that all they do is watch health bars. And all they do is heal, heal, heal. And that's usually why people don't like playing priests end-game.

I'm sure tanking is somewhat similar, just beating on some mob and ensuring he stays on you, etc.

My main character is a priest, and I think it is incredibly fun in raiding and out. I've switched characters with my friend, who plays a rogue for MC and BWL before, and priest is a lot more fun. There are incredibly few fights were quality dps makes a real difference besides ending it faster, while timing your heals to coencide with spike damage definately does make a difference.

Also, mind control is the single coolest spell in the game, bar none.

The question is, are you going to respec? I'd definately assume so, but being full wrath, full prot spec, you might stay with...

However, looking at your bags atm, you could try fury, Spineshatter mainhand and Warblade of Hakkari offhand. Use the Onslaught girdle, stronghold gauntlets, the two crit rings(could use the archimontros if you want), crit trinket and pvp one and Eskhander's.

Trust me, as far as a fury spec is concerned, I will get laughed at with this:- http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warriors/talents.html?350250210000 0000005500310150501105100 000000000000000
I really have no idea what you want as far as fury, that's a rough idea I guess, there's a thread here somewhere about warrior talents.

Edit: Not trying to say you're retarded or anything, just what to use :P
P.S. Just tank fury, deathwish is cool-mode!

I fucking hate warriors that use deathwish while tanking.

Yup, pretty much a bad idea.. though it can be useful for fights that include fear... maybe

We have this one warrior in guild who is 2h fury spec and always pops deathwish while 2h tanking drakonids during Phase 1 Nef, and the sudden spike in the damage she is really hard to catch before she dies. It's basically a suicide button if you're taking any substantial damage, because your healers won't be expecting the spike and would be lucky to adjust in time.

MC the battle mages in Scarlet strat and WTFPWN the other npc's while everyone sits arouind and does nothing ;). Kinda like doing the escort quest for fordrings ring. :D

I am the only protection spec warrior in my guild at the moment. Every single warrior and just about every paladin has a weapon of 70+ dps, including new recruits. I have passed on pretty much every bit of DPS gear and weapon because I was asked to spec protection early on in our MC progress. I don't dislike tanking, in fact I like it, but I want the option to PvP.

As far as DW/Fury, I don't have nearly enough + hit for it to be effective in PvP, and on top of that, I've always been a big two-hander type of person. I'm hoping to snag our second Ashkandi drop, and I don't think anyone will even bid against me. However, that is still a matter of more time.

Heh, I've been 8/8 wrath for a while now, and I'm working on getting my pvp gear up to par. Considering most of the other warriors/melee are retarded it's pretty easy to snag some nice stuff cheap.

Spec'ing protection is retarded, especially since you can kill nef. Our MT was 17/34 arms/fury throughout bwl learning, and is now 5/31/15 for AQ. I'm the normal OT, doing wing buffets, left side emperor tanking with 35/5/11. Even as horde, having more than 16 points in protection is just nerfing your tanking ability, and much more, your ability to fill other roles, such as when fighting c'thun.

Smack your guild leader over the head and tell him to stop being an idiot when it comes to warriors.

Meh I love playing a priest both in raids and out. The only time healing is truly boring is when I'm placed in the MT group with only 1 other healer because I know I can't waste spell timers on others so I sit and watch one health bar for the duration of a fight. There's so many different healing roles to be played that it's really not very monotonous. Perhaps some guilds do the same thing every pull and it's boring for their healers, but Natural switches up groups alot to try a slightly different approach to things often enough that my job changes every couple minutes while in raids from group healing, MT healing, patch healing, dispelling, DPS (while stuck with extra mana, might as well use it), etc..

I think we may have one MT that is still protection (not full i don't think) our others are all either MS builds or Nat with a 2H fury build normally tanking with his Sulfuras (when it's feasible of course). Even without a shield it's no problem keeping him up, and while tanking oftentimes he's top 5-10 DPS as well. Makes for fun and fast runs.

All of our guild's warriors have both DPS and tanking gear, though some almost never are asked to tank. For some reason we get more warrior gear (both DPS and +def) than anything but netherwind in BWL so everyone's had a chance to enjoy both aspects of their class. Now being a priest is fun because most mages and locks are loaded or have a very focused list of items they want so many guild priests are able to loot +dmg gear for PVP or grinding. When I can hit 415ish renews in raids (859 +heal) and put on +dmg gear and smite/holy fire for over 1k while having HUGE survivability with disc spec it makes the priest class very versatile and fun.

You have a pretty well geared hunter alt. PVP on him.

I was PvPing on the hunter for a while, got a decent PvP rank, I just got tired of hunters. Warriors are my favorite class.

It was more amusing before they reduced it to a max of 5 targets. I remember a lot of horde warriors always using their shout at < 5% health. Happened a lot on the flag in AB, and it was usually a good laugh watching a big group of alliance scatter.
