for ruining the restoration tree and becoming vastly overpowered.
Innervate will be a trainable spell in 1.11

"any Druid who formerly had the Innervate talent will instead have the "Swiftmend" talent, which has been added to the Druid Restoration tree, replacing Innervate as the 31 point talent. This new ability will consume a Rejuvenation or Regrowth effect to produce an instant heal."
I actually suggeted that as the 31pt talent on the druid forums a while ago. But only for regrowth not rejuv.
Rouailtagh 05-02-2006, 12:52 AM Well that SEEMS reasonable, as long as it consumes both effects and then mana to actually cast Innervate. I mean would you rather they simply cast it rather than having to spend mana casting Rejuv AND Regrowth and then paying an addition mana cost to cast it?

JohnWayne 05-02-2006, 01:19 AM pagy's got this on lockdown.

Since Innervate doesn't heal, I think that description is for the new SwiftMend ability.
Rouailtagh 05-02-2006, 01:40 AM The only thing this would seem to help is getting druids out of the demanded Resto-spec so they can do Feral. Don't see much balance anymore, now and again I see a moonkin but think the shine has worn off.
Swiftmend is not a suitable replacement though, GJ breaking the game further in an attempt to create more problems to fix in future patches.
provided swiftmend is as useless as it sounds, it's effectively killed the restoration tree past 21pts (27 if you're a hippy)
i want to be specced for healing, but now there's no real reason to. if im a good healer with a 24/0/27 or 0/30/21, why spec restoration?
hey swiftmend could end up being awesome and overpowered and innervate remained unchanged, but this class change is drastic and brings out the paranoid pessimist in me
Raven 05-02-2006, 03:02 AM god man
i hope they dont start doing this to other classes
i remember seeing those fake chinese patch notes saying scatter shot would become a trained skill
0/30/21 looks pretty sick for healing now, but Swiftmend sounds interesting. The way I read the talent, it soulds like it will function like Conflagrate works for warlocks, meaning that you throw a HoT on a tank and can instaheal him whenever you like provided your HoT is up, and has a fairly low cooldown (10-20s). So you'd have Rejuv on him, he spikes, you hit Swiftmend and max rank HT and boom, he's full. Might even allow you to drop NS if the cooldown is low. If it works like this, druid healing suddenly got a lot, lot more valuable for raiding situations, and even more so in PvP.
booty 05-02-2006, 09:36 AM Well that new talent seems like it would have its place but i dunno.
Handing out innvervate is just them trying to stop classes from getting pigeonholed into specific builds for raids.
They essentially made BoK free. I would be shocked if they did not make mana tide trainable as well. Guilds used to want shaman to go manatide but that build is just so inept that most people have long since abandoned it.
Eh, that sucks..I think will do feral/rest now :D
The idea of an instant heal every 10-20 seconds sucks? What I said may not even be close to what the talent is but I think I am reading their intent correctly, and if I am it seems incredibly powerful to me.
EDIT: or were you just saying that it sucks that they gave all druids innervate? (As a priest I'm excited by the prospect).
filsinger 05-02-2006, 12:05 PM It's essentially the conflag version of a heal. Not a terrible idea.
PoorDoggy 05-02-2006, 12:32 PM Keep bitching, eventually you'll get something as fantastic as Lightwell to top off your healing tree.
Ciceron 05-02-2006, 12:32 PM Sounds neat to me, but I haven't played or played with a druid at any reasonable level, so I really have no clue.
Smaqaho 05-02-2006, 12:38 PM If it means more people can innervate me and especially if manatide becomes trainable life would be so good. Perhaps not for those who do not like the added challenge of mana conservation or who enjoy playing the bitch role of manatide shaman (resto druids are the best ones now, imo) - but if both came true I wouldn't feel quite as bad about how easymode alliance is with paladins compared to us and shaman.
it all comes down to how much swiftmend heals for
if it heals for the remainder of the HoT then it's quite bad
and if they nerf innervate... grrr time to ebay
r00fies 05-02-2006, 03:15 PM This just comes off as grossly overpowered 1v1 PvP wise.. :hrm:
Hopefully they change it around a little so the Druid isn't able to cast it on himself, regardless of how long the cooldown is. Everything in this game is balanced around endgame raiding, and it's quite sickening. It's like they've completely forgetten the PvP aspect in this game :(
Helado 05-02-2006, 03:51 PM The only reason why it irks me as a priest is that innervate and NS are two abilities that I drool over. Innervate has been one of the best talents in the game, and one of the few deserving 31 point talent status. I really don't see any reasoning for it to be given as a class ability.
